Kisuke waited for the siblings on the ground as they tried to circle the space. But due to its sheer size, the two of them wouldn't be able to finish inspecting today if they wanted to properly check things out.
'A scanning device? So they have those,' Kisuke thought to himself when he saw Robertina holding out a bulky and boxy piece of equipment that was intermittently sending out signals of various frequencies.
Half an hour later, and the sun had already started to set outside, which matched the lighting within the underground space. Ex and Robertina decided to go down to Kisuke.
"Welcome back~ How was it?"
Ex and Robertina retracted their wings and looked at each other for a brief moment before the former replied, "Urahara-san, we've seen a lot of 'micro-worlds' that have their own ecosystem. Although this sub-space can't be called one, it certainly is close to one."
"Oh, is it that good?"
However, Robertina shook her head, "It's not good. It's absurd. It can't be called a micro-world because it can't be classified as one. The one defining feature of a micro-world is that it's floating somewhere in the Dimensional Gap for its stability. I hope you can see how ridiculous it is to see a sub-space on par with a micro-world attached to the Human World."
Within the Draconic Deus realm, there are two world classifications: main-worlds and micro-worlds. Main-worlds are those on the scale of the Underworld, Human World, and other major mythological factions' worlds. Micro-worlds, on the other hand, were spaces within the Dimensional Gap that were created by groups of people who wanted secret spaces or headquarters detached from the main-worlds.
As for sub-spaces, they were tiny spaces attached to objects, main-worlds, or micro-worlds due to how they function in the first place.
Because of this difference and how they work, Ex and Robertina were having a hard time believing that this is just a sub-space for the scale that it has. After all, creating a micro-world in the Dimensional Gap is akin to blowing a bubble underwater compared to a sub-space, which is more like blowing a bubble within a concrete slab.
Creating tiny sub-spaces isn't an issue because the forces of a stable world don't press on them too much, but as they grow bigger, the more the world around them would push against them.
There were a few working theories on how to achieve large-scale sub-spaces, but they were just that, theories.
"May we know who or what group created this space?" Robertina asked. "Because as it stands, we have little to no reason to keep this place a secret. In fact, it's a very huge risk for us."
"You should have already expected it, but I can't tell you that."
Robertina sighed. She was hoping that Kisuke would be able to introduce them to the maker or at least tell them who it was.
Regardless, this placed them in a tough spot. Although they oversaw and had the commanding voice behind Kuoh Town, this was still something outside of what they could handle. However, the moment they reported it to the United Armies or even the Gremory House, they risked making enemies of the people who created this space. 'They wouldn't have done it in this town with such disregard to secrecy if they were hostile. If I read this situation incorrectly, we won't just lose the cooperation of a master craftsman but also may push them towards antagonistic factions,' Robertina thought to herself, wishing they hadn't pried from the start.
Benihime, who Kisuke allowed to listen to their conversation, got the gist of what he wanted to happen. [You're trying to trap them?]
['Trap' is a strong word. I was just hoping that it'll be just them who I'll be dealing with for now,] Kisuke replied. [We have time, so I'd rather understand the younger generation first before I reveal myself to Issei's generation or Azazel's generation.]
[When did you have that idea?] Benihime thought that Kisuke would just passively watch the overall situation and not directly involve himself.
[Just earlier when I saw them. I thought that I might get more information from them while also minimizing the risk for me.]
Benihime, however, became quiet for a few moments before saying, [...Be honest, you just want to mess with them, right?]
[No. Of course not!] Kisuke instantly retorted, but he could feel the pressure from Benihime and slowly backed down. [...I mean, yeah. That's part of it. But just imagine messing with Ajuka or Issei directly. I'd be lucky if they didn't come down with a huge army. Just view this as slowly and carefully introducing ourselves to them.]
[That would have held more weight if you hadn't just blasted Kuroka and their kids with a deadly beam of light.]
[That doesn't count. That's not us.]
While Kisuke was arguing with Benihime, Ex saw that Robertina was struggling. If he was going to be honest with himself, he was pretty stupid in regards to this stuff, and he didn't intend to learn how to maneuver situations like these. However, he had been very good at one thing: stepping forward.
"Urahara-san, is there anything else that you do in this place aside from training?"
Robertina looked at him. Before coming down, they had already discussed a few things and decided that if she couldn't see where this was going, Ex would be the one who'd do the talking. She sighed and took a step back. 'We're going to get closer to someone we can't hope to understand now... Is this really alright?'
"Well, I treat this like a vacation place. A place you can escape from the hectic day-to-day lives. There are some fishing spots if that's your thing."
"How good is the durability of its boundaries?"
"Hmmm..." Kisuke tapped his chin a few times before answering, "I'd say pretty good."
"Do you mind if I test it out a bit?"
"Go ahead."
With Kisuke's permission, a red and black gauntlet with a familiar green gem in the middle of it appeared over Ex's right hand.
The gem on it then started shining, and a series of [Boost] voices that were deeper than Ddraig were heard as he lifted his right arm over his head.
A second later, a ball that had the power that only those with the blood of the Gremory Household could produce emerged from his palm.
The last and final boost erupted, and the dark red ball of destruction flew up. A few seconds later, the ball breached the clouds and reached the ceiling, creating a huge explosion that rocked the whole space, accompanied by a shockwave.
Robertina was stunned by Ex's sudden drastic actions but prioritized the situation and erected a barrier to protect herself and the other two from the shockwave that would inevitably reflect back at them a few times.
To her and even Ex's surprise, however, the second wave never came. And even more surprising, the explosion cleared up, and all they could see afterward were several hexagonal barriers coating the ceiling, fully protecting it from Ex's attack. "...Not even a fracture?"
'I put a considerable amount of power in it, though,' Ex thought to himself. After calculating where he should hit, he had actually intended to create a hole in the ceiling and hopefully trigger an alarm that would catch the attention of important people. Because he received permission, he figured that whoever made this place wouldn't be able to blame him or Robertina.
"Satisfied?"
Ex shook and nodded. "...Yeah. It's sturdy, shockingly so."
But soon enough, his attitude changed, and he smiled brightly at Kisuke. "Do you mind if we rent this place? I can promise you satisfactory compensation."
Kisuke, however, couldn't give an answer because Robertina finally woke up from her stupor and majestically gave Ex a kick directly to his shin. "Why are you so reckless!? Stupid nii-san!!!"
