Omg I think today was my one year anniversary at work! Realized after the title like a dumbass… I'll have to double check tmr.
Speaking of work, with the hot hot weather starting to stay consistent, we're moving to a 6-230 workday. Not as early as 5 am like we did when I was first working. It'll be a nice in between. Not too early but one less hr in the heat.
Family update!! My sister not only graduated from high school, she also turned 18!!! AHHHHHHH!!! So OLD. Me, I'm ancient 😅
I'm excited to see where she goes next…
When I started the splurge, it was this time ish 2020... hello pandemic. It's wild to see a) how much time has passed since then but then b) how much of the world has changed. Like grads don't walk the stage at that big church anymore with the uplifting music as we walk in. No. Instead, they walk into a boring ass gym with no music, just applause. Which while that sounds ok, imagine how long it takes 300+ kids to walk single file into a gym and zigzag their way onto the folding chairs.
By the time we got to the poor Z names, the clapping reduced by half I swear. Poor lil grads got duped out of a really amazing grad cuz of covid. Well cuz the school didn't want to pay for it anymore?? At least she got a grad… I do feel bad about grad year 2020. They didn't even get a Zoom walk😭. Nothing. Poor babies.
I gotta say one thing I like about this app is they updated the typing features… it used to be such a pain just to leave a comment. If u got halfway thru a word and clicked the spell check option, it would move your cursor. So if u weren't paying attention, suddenly the second half of your sentence would become the middle. It was SO ANNOYING. I appreciate that at some point that was fixed
Thank you for the stream of consciousness brain splurge opportunity… maybe one day I'll actually write a proper story.
