Chapter 8 - Day 1

Thousand Lily Academy.

An all-girl martial school that raised female "martial gods" on par with men.

As her carriage drew closer to the school she felt nervous. What if she was the weakest?

Should she hide her strength? Stay low-key?

"Miss we've arrived."

She was helped out her carriage by a servant, her gaze gravitating to the view in front of her. Right now, she was standing before the tallest gate she's ever seen.

She had to crane her neck all the way up to get a good look at the water lily insignia, or at least there should have been one. What was there instead was a dog.

"Hmmm? Am I at the wrong school?"

The guards standing at the gate smiled.

"You're not from the city are you? An announcement was made by the Prime Minister that the school would be co-ed starting from today. It's no longer Lily School, but Wolf Lily."

"Huh? But Thousand Year Lily has been like this for generations why suddenly-" Guiying held herself back and sighed.

There were three types of boys in this world. Those that were annoying, those that were asshats and those that were both.

Excluding her older brother of course. Scratch that. There's four types of men.

Back in her former life her problems all stemmed from men. All she did was breathe and in turn, their girlfriends would hate her. She was constantly confronted by jealous girls. Their scheming and traps, she didn't want to go through that again. It'd be easier to go to an all girls school minus boys. This put a wrench in her plans.

As she entered through the gates there was a small crowd.

A girl sat at its center talking to a couple of guys, smiling. She was beautiful, a different type of beauty compared to Guiying, with more gentle and innocent features.

Well looks like she has nothing to worry about. If the cute and innocent girl type was popular here, they'd leave her be.

To the far left, at the top of the stairs of the school cathedral a teacher shouted.

"New students this way to take your entrance exam!"

The entrance exam.

Before she left Fang Euren explained it would just be a simple test to see if she had potential.

As she walked up the stairs her mind wandered.

A student emerged from within and descended the stairs, upon seeing him many stuck to the sides but Guiying who missed this as her eyes were glued to her new surroundings, got knocked backwards as their shoulders collided. She thought perhaps she had walked into a pillar, but looked up and saw a person.

She felt a chill as she stumbled, and barely managed to catch the railing, her head inches from the sharply polished steps. A gasp escaped her. Her heart thudded in her chest, she nearly died...again.

The near death experience, made her body go cold, as she uprighted herself and sat on the steps. She already died so why was she afraid?

She recalled her converstation with Hexstasia as well as the goddess's corpse, her Grandfather, and Uncle. If she had died that quickly, what a serious waste. It was so easy to die, she needed to be more careful.

"Hey, are you alright?" A bell-like voice called to her.

Seeing that she wasn't moving, someone that witnessed the scene walked over. A hand reached out.

The warmth from their hand that pulled her up from underneath her armpits made her come too.

Her vision could only see what was infront of her, the tall and broad-shouldered back of a young man clothed in black. The person she bumped into, he kept walking without even an apology.

She cursed under her breath. "Oi! You f##!@*! Do you think you own the streets or something?!"

She was knocked over easily because she wasn't paying attention but still couldn't he have easily stepped to the side? What was his excuse?!

The steps were wide enough for multiple people to go up at once for a reason.

She wanted to curse more when the warm hand covered her mouth.

The tall back of the youth stopped walking.

Before they could turn around she was dragged up the steps. "Quickly, quickly, this way."

Guiying flailed out of their grasp to see a girl her age.

"You're not from around here, are you? Trust me, that person is not someone you should mess with." She was a tall girl with the most orange hair Guiying had ever seen. Her almond-shaped peach-colored irises contrasted with her hair nicely. She was even more beautiful than the girl at the center courtyard, yet there were no flies around her.

"I got it. I got it so unhand me!"

"Ah-"

The girl released her.

"Not that it was any of your business, but still, thank you." Guiying still felt dizzy and her heart was still beating like crazy from nearly falling to her death.

The girl opened and closed her mouth, her brows knitting as she frowned. "You're...a real piece of work too aren't you? "

"That I am, let's try not to meet again." Guiying clung to the sides as a rail as she walked up the steps.

The redhead scoffed before walking up the steps, she didn't look back even once.

Guiying tried to calm her beating heart. She had nearly died so easily... even with her Grandfather and Uncle prepping her body for this day.

Her nerves were frayed. Confidence faltering, as she made her way up the steps and into the chapel she took a deep sigh.

"Can I do this?"
