I woke up early, the remnants of last night's turmoil clinging to me like a damp blanket. The morning light seeped through the curtains, illuminating the stark silence in the room. I felt a heaviness in my heart as I glanced at Armando, still asleep, his features soft in the early light. I wanted to reach out to him, to bridge the growing chasm between us, but something held me back. I rolled out of bed, careful not to disturb him, and made my way to the bathroom.
The cool water splashed on my face, refreshing yet sobering. I studied my reflection—a mix of exhaustion and determination stared back at me. After a quick bath, I dressed quietly in a simple blouse and jeans, opting for comfort over anything else. Today was important; I needed to focus on the event preparations and keep my mind off the underlying tension. The silence between Armando and me felt suffocating, a constant reminder of unresolved emotions that simmered just beneath the surface.
