I stared at the cross-legged young handsome man sitting next to me. He didn't seem surprised to see me at all. Perhaps it was because he knew he was extremely handsome; handsome guys always think of themselves as superior, knowing they can get any girl they want. I kept staring at him. He looked like one of those models from Vogue magazine. I was pretty sure underneath the shirt he was wearing there must have been a nice six-pack of abs, and his arms must have been very muscular. The skin under his shirt must have been incredibly smooth.
"Enough staring. Have your driver stop the car here," he said, his voice effortlessly handsome. "What's your name?"
"Wu Jig. And yours?"
"Xiao Lan."
"Chi, stop the car. Xiao Lan wants to get out."
"You mean the dog, right?"
"Yes."
Chi slowly stopped the car.
I opened the door and waited for the handsome Xiao Lan to get off.
"Follow me," Xiao Lan said in a deep, handsome voice.
I followed Xiao Lan obediently. I didn't want to praise his handsomeness, but he really was handsome. He was like one of those Calvin Klein perfume models, the one that women dream about and men hate. I continued to follow him until we were standing in an alley. When I stood there, I noticed that it was the same alley where I'd seen the woman last week. I quickly retreated towards the street.
"What are you doing?" the handsome Xiao Lan asked me.
"You keep going. I can stand here and wait for you. I'm blind and I'm not able to help you," I said, and then I realized that I could see everything around me clearly.
"The way you looked at me just now told me that you're not blind." He took my hand and pulled me deeper into the terrible alley.
This scene, with him dragging me into the alley like this, reminded me of one of those old detective books, where two detectives were solving a murder mystery.
"This way." I heard a fading voice come from my right ear.
"Stop," I said.
"What?"
"I heard someone tell me to go that way." I pointed at the left alley intersection.
Suddenly, I saw the same lady with shackles on her feet appear. She pointed to the door, screaming loudly as if afraid to enter the door.
Honestly, this was the first time I'd seen something like this, so I didn't know what to do. I wasn't sure if she wanted me to enter the door or warned me not to enter the door. I didn't know what was on the other side of this door. I hesitated to go in.
"What do you see?" The handsome Xiao Lan asked me.
"I saw a woman in shackles. She pointed to the door, screaming, and then she vanished. I didn't know what she wanted."
"I thought you said you couldn't see anything."
"My eyes can't see anything. Recently, I've been seeing strange things."
Xiao Lan quickly pushed me aside, and I saw a butcher's knife swinging towards his handsome face. Xiao Lan grabbed the man's hand, then jumped up and kicked the bad man violently in the chest. The man crashed through the door pointed to by the strange woman. Xiao Lan was not only handsome but also good at fighting.
Xiao Lan chased the man, and then my sight turned gray. I stood up slowly, touched the wall, leading me deeper into the back of the kitchen. I think I touched the refrigerator because my hands felt suddenly cold.
The door of the freezer opened slowly, and then I heard the sound of chains being dragged on the concrete floor. I saw a whole bunch of things wrapped in plastic bags hanging from the ceiling. I slowly moved them aside. Most of these wrapped bags were cold and hard. It told me that these things, whatever they were, had been here for a while. When I reached the last bag, it had a soft texture to the touch. Even though the bag was cold, the texture was soft. This meant it had not been frozen. I squeezed it harder and heard a soft female moan in pain. I took a step back slowly and my heart was beating very fast.
I didn't have to see it to know what was wrapped in those plastic bags. They were probably dead bodies. The person in the bag moved slowly, and the plastic rustled.
"Don't move," I said. "I'll call the police."
I reached into my pocket and pulled out my phone. I couldn't see the dial pad, I couldn't see anything at all. Suddenly, someone kicked me hard, and I felt myself falling to the floor. I searched the floor, found a frying pan, and grabbed it.
"Xiao Lan!" I shouted loudly. "Help me!" I shook the frying pan back and forth, but it didn't seem to even hit anyone.
"There is nowhere to escape," a female voice suddenly said.
"You're not a man." I raised my eyes and tried to focus on the wavy figure.
"With which eyes do you see that I am a man? Do you look down on female officers?" she said furiously.
"I thought women should have long hair! Why would you cut your hair like a man? I don't know if you're a man or a woman — nowadays, women are the same as men! If I walk into a club, I won't be able to tell who's who. Some men are even more beautiful than women!"
"I've never seen such a talkative criminal like you!" She scoffed.
"Criminal?! How dare you call me a criminal? I don't care which department you come from. If you dare touch me, it'll be the biggest lawsuit your department has ever seen!"
The female police officer quickly grabbed my hands. I saw Xiao Lan flying from behind her. If I'd known where my phone was, I would have grabbed it and recorded the moment Xiao Lan flew into action. His sapphire eyes were so handsome. He beat the female police officer, sending her crashing into one of the dead bodies hanging from the ceiling. Xiao Lan quickly hovered around the corpses and rushed towards the female police officer, but this time he was a dog instead of a man. Xiao Lan stood in front of me, snarling angrily at the female police officer. To be honest, I preferred my dog to be the handsome Xiao Lan, because there was no benefit in watching a dog fight a police officer.
"Nice doggie," she said.
I looked at her name tag, which read 'Officer Xu.'
"Officer Xu, who do you have in there?" A man called.
"A jerk and a stupid dog," she called back.
"Hey, don't call my service dog stupid! You're more stupid than him! He just beat you a moment ago!"
"Shut up."
"I've never seen such an unreasonable person before!" I threw the pan at her, and of course, the skilled officer kicked the pan right back at me. The stupid frying pan hit my chest.
The male police officer walked in and looked at us. His name tag read 'Officer Li.'
"Why don't you arrest this criminal already?" asked Officer Li.
"That dog is guarding him tightly," Officer Xu said.
"Just use your stun gun," said Officer Li.
The stupid dog dodged, and guess where the two dart electrodes landed? The stupid things hit me on my chest! I felt a thousand voltages flowing through my body. I felt a thousand needles stabbing me from all directions. I began to jerk violently to my left side and fell to the cold floor, convulsing like someone with an epileptic seizure.
During these painful moments, no one came to my aid. Xiao Lan the stupid dog, the jerk who stunned me, and the arrogant Officer Xu just watched me from a distance. I think I saw them pointing their fingers at me and smiling.
"Tssth...tssth...tssth..." I heard myself saying.
I knew it made no sense, but honestly, I wanted to tell them that I hated them. Later, the ambulance arrived, and the paramedics conducted a quick check on me. They told the two evil officers that I was okay. The two evil officers then arrested me.
