I was pouring my frustrations by using the punching bag repeatedly. I stayed there till boredom overtook me. My cousin and Cain were staring in awe. I asked if they were interested in Apiaries. Roland kindly explained and my cousin said that he hated that he was forced to become this thing and he has been a bit of a liability. He is trying to observe me so he can learn to be more helpful and productive. Apparently I had been practicing all day to which Oleg responded, "My wife has known to be on that punching bag for a lot longer than that. She once spent three days and three nights punching continuously. The only reason that stopped her was boredom." I told him to keep it a secret. I told him that my gifts were activated and weaponized because I was afraid for myself and my friends. I keep my abilities a secret because Cain remembered the girls and said that I had always been seen them. He smiled, "You would guard them with your life. Like you protected and guarded me and my men after you freed us from slavery. You would make sure we were fed, clothed and happy. We were just people to you while the others deemed us less or a means to end or a weapon." I gave him a smile as I picked up a canteen filled with nightshade. I drank it and walked back to the locker. Cousin asked for a sip and I told him nicely, "This canteen is filled with nightshades. If you drink you will die." Oleg concurred and so did Orlando. He gave a look, "I liked my new name Roland makes me feel like a bad ass." I chuckled, "You are incorrigible and infectious in a position and stress relieving manner."
I sat down by the balcony with a cup of warm tea. I took a sip and just wondered what it would be like to have my friends with me. I blinked twice and saw Irene spread her arm and ran like she was a bird. I was lying on my side laughing as she fell on top of Sonja. She was spaced out trying to figure out what to wear for her date. Her crush Charlie Webber had asked her to be his date for the prom. I burst out laughing as Sonja smacked her on the back of her head. I told her to take it easy as she should look re-splendid. Fighting would leave a few dark patches. It won't be attractive in the prom pictures. The two stop fighting immediately. I was not going to the prom. I was going to an underground club called 'Nightingale' I needed some time to blow some steam. All I have been doing was sharpen my senses and hardening my skill set. Hormones were poking around and I needed to get out outside and clear my head. So I told the guys that I am staying in the dorms instead since I have no interest whatsoever. The girls told me to spend at least five minutes before calling it quits. So we went to the dreaded party. The punch was laced with something. Whatever it was I warned the girls to avoid it like it was acid. The girls gravitated towards water bottles. I was roaming around bored to tears. So finally I told the girls that I am going to catch some sleep. The others saw how tired I was so they waved me off. I did tell them to have fun on my behalf as well. I got back to my dorm and changed into my new outfit. A knee length black dress and a four inch heeled stilettos.
I opened the window and made myself invisible and flew to my destination. The place was less crowded. The drinks still looked like someone had spiked it with a substance worth some serious jail time. There was one guy stood out. He was tall but not as gorgeous as my dear Oleg but still he was cute. I decided to snap out my memory. I saw Orlando oops sorry Roland an in inch from my husband examining every inch of his face trying to figure out in how I had established him as gorgeous. He grabbed his face and started to poke him. I started laughing and Roland turned around wanting to know what memory he had unlocked. I assured him that he didn't any old memory but this is a moment I will remember forever. I happily laughed as I walked back into the throne room and saw that the humans were here to make a deal. They will accept my rule in exchange the human districts get the shield too. I tilted my head and extended my shield. She was told of the retreating beasties and she got down to one knee. I came down and sat next to her. I told her that I am not looking to enslave anyone. I just want everyone to get along with each other and stand united. The thing every few generations a greedy one pops up and he or she thinks eliminating the population to only allow his or her own to thrive is unfair and unjust. These psychopaths are the reason we are divided. I touched her forehead and showed her the past six hundred years. She cried as she saw the pain and suffering from the hands of those who had absconded the wealth and starved millions. She promised that she will tell everyone what she had seen.
I made it clear that she doesn't need to kneel. She is free to go home and live her life anyway she sees fit. The humans can have their own leadership but the catch is simple. Don't attack the Nocturnals. She stared at me for a moment. She asked me what I wanted more than anything in the entire world. I smiled, "I have my family" I pointed at every single one. I looked at her and continued, "I don't need anything else. This is my happily ever after." The werewolves grinned ear to ear. The vampires stood taller with a sense of dignity. I took her hand and escorted her back to her vehicle. I waved her off and went back to the my tea which was cold. So I walked off to the kitchen which the vampires blocked. The werewolves kindly poured my cup into the nearest pot plant and steered me to the throne room. A butler was waiting with piping hot tea. I asked the council session commence. The linguists were pleased to announce the formation of their sign language. The coins were now bearing my face on both sides. One side had me in human form and the other had me in monster form. The edge had a proverb in Arabic. The translation was the leader of the tribe was their servant. I grinned ear to ear as they were given a round of applause. The smile disappeared as we discussed what the next year is going to entail. The majority was spent with both sides hurling accusations at each other saying that they each wanted two bites of the apple. I had to put the foot down and everyone calm down. I had to break down the ideas so a toddle could understand the predicament. Then slowly talk about we could ensure both sides benefit equally. After the discussion was over everyone dispersed to implement their daily chores. Cain was impressed. I shook my head, "I am surrounded by children. My apologies for my unusual remarks." He grinned as he accepted my tea. We sat by the window and he was about to say when his wife came asked for a moment of his time. I wished them both a happy life as I walked back to the balcony.
Oleg wrapped his coat to keep me warm and he asked me if I would ever consider coffee. I retorted, "I have grown up seeing how people are worse than zombies when they don't have their coffee fix. I have been properly traumatized by behavior of my own mommy so for the sake of my sanity I think tea is a safe bet." Oleg happily pressed his face against mine as he asked me nicely to stop indulging in the past since it infuriates him. He prefers his woman admiring him. So I turned to face the garden and remembered the day I went shopping with a few humans in an attempt to rekindle that feeling I had with Irene, Sonja and my other dear friends. I remember seeing Oleg like he was about order a bowl of popcorn. The day I first had feeling for him. It was before I landed under the rubble. I was on patrol with Oleg, Roland, Igor and Jasper. I remember seeing his smile for the first time and wondered what it would like if he looked at me all day long for the rest of my life. I had a feeling that I had made a mistake. His expression turned teasing as I blushed red. I turned to see the others looking away but I can my husband Oleg had shared this intimate secret with everyone else. I happily slapped him as I extended my senses to find out what was going on. It took me a human minute to realize. Adam Monroe's descendant was back and he was trying to annihilate the population. I ordered the men and women to arm themselves as trouble has discovered our location.
