Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Dream Shattered and Shopping

Little Tail glanced at the smooth magnetic ring in her hand, polished by Boss Tang, and handed it to Lu Yu.

Lu Yu saw her action and said, "I'll give this magnetic ring to you. Remember to keep it safe, it'll be useful in the future."

Little Tail was pleasantly surprised as she took back the magnetic ring and eagerly put it on her wrist, but unfortunately, her wrist was too thin to hold it.

After discovering this issue, Little Tail looked somewhat troubled.

With money in hand, Lu Yu felt at ease and found Little Tail more agreeable. He casually took a thin string from his backpack and helped her fasten the magnetic ring.

The magnetic ring bracelet turned into a magnetic ring necklace, though the necklace seemed a bit too large.

Still, Little Tail was very happy, wearing the magnetic ring necklace around her neck and occasionally touching it.

Seeing her like this, Lu Yu shook his head and said to her, "I'm going out for a while, stay here and don't wander around."

After saying that, Lu Yu left the backyard, heading towards the Divine Weapon Pavilion.

Although Boss Tang was a good person, he couldn't consume so much iron essence, so Lu Yu planned to sell it at the Divine Weapon Pavilion, and slightly disguised himself halfway there.

"Shopkeeper, someone is looking for you."

The shopkeeper of the Divine Weapon Pavilion suspiciously walked down from the third floor and saw a man in the lobby with a paper bag over his head. His eyebrow twitched, this disguise was quite perfunctory!

The shopkeeper walked up to Lu Yu and asked, "Are you the one who wishes to sell the iron essence?"

"Yes." Lu Yu took out a small bag he had prepared in advance, which contained a little iron essence, and handed the bag to the shopkeeper of the Divine Weapon Pavilion.

The shopkeeper took the bag, noting that it had some weight, opened it and saw it was indeed iron essence, but just a little bit wasn't enough for him to personally attend to.

"I have more iron essence." As he spoke, a full cloth bag suddenly appeared in Lu Yu's hand, although he didn't hand it over.

Seeing the bag suddenly appear in his hand, the shopkeeper noticed the dark green ring on Lu Yu's index finger, slightly surprised, not expecting anyone in such a remote place like Windmill Town to possess a Storage Ring.

However, he found this ring somewhat odd, different from typical Storage Rings, more like a cheap jade ring sold by street vendors.

Disregarding the unnecessary thoughts, the shopkeeper's tone became more courteous upon seeing the bag full of iron essence, extending his hand and saying, "Please, let's discuss the details upstairs."

Lu Yu and the shopkeeper of the Divine Weapon Pavilion went to a private room on the second floor, which was originally prepared for customers needing custom Divine Soldiers. However, the iron essence Lu Yu had was enough for him to take notice.

Through the two holes punched in the paper bag, Lu Yu could see the shopkeeper's expression, and seeing that his expression remained normal without any ulterior motives, he followed him upstairs.

In the private room, Lu Yu took out two bags of iron essence and placed them in front of the shopkeeper, planning to exchange them all for money.

Seeing another bag full of iron essence, the shopkeeper was slightly surprised, took out a device topped with a disk from a Storage Bag, looking like an electronic scale from reality.

After setting up the balance, the shopkeeper picked up the cloth bag and poured every bit of iron essence onto the disk.

To Lu Yu's surprise, a small illuminated horizontal line appeared on the base under the balance, rising higher as more iron essence was added.

After all the iron essence was poured onto the balance, he waited a moment for the horizontal line to stabilize.

The shopkeeper carefully examined and said, "It's a total of five pounds, six ounces, and seven drams. At the market rate of 80 Gold Coins per ounce, it's a total of 4536 Gold Coins."

After saying this, he packed all the iron essence on the balance into a stone box, took out a money bag, and filled it with 4536 Gold Coins.

Lu Yu took the money bag, left the private room with the shopkeeper, and when he reached the second-floor lobby, he glanced several times at the weapons displayed on the exquisite weapon stands.

The shopkeeper noticed his movements and said, "These are first-grade Divine Soldiers, the cheapest at 1200 Gold Coins, the most expensive at 4300 Gold Coins. If you'd like to choose one, I'll give you a 5% discount."

Lu Yu, hearing that the Divine Soldiers were so expensive, couldn't help but gasp, but kept up the image of a strong individual, saying, "There's no need, these Divine Soldiers are too weak (light)."

The shopkeeper didn't think much of it; naturally, a strong person possessing a Storage Ring would not be impressed by these ordinary first or second-grade Divine Soldiers, and politely saw Lu Yu out of the Divine Weapon Pavilion.

As for Lu Yu's identity, the shopkeeper wasn't interested, being just a businessman.

He walked to an empty corner, tore and discarded the bag randomly taken from the pharmacy, and removed the fake Storage Ring on his index finger, placing it into his backpack, tidied his clothes, and walked out of the alley.

After returning to the courtyard, he took out a Gold Coin and tossed it to Little Tail, saying, "Think about what you'll buy later. I'll only give you a short time to shop."

Having promised Little Tail he would give her money and take her shopping, Lu Yu intended to fulfill his promise.

It was his principle; if he couldn't do it, he wouldn't promise. If he promised, he would do his utmost to achieve it.

Of course, Lu Yu wasn't a stubborn person; whether to adhere to principles depended on the subject. If the subject was an enemy, there was nothing more to say.

Little Tail anxiously accepted the Gold Coin, looking dumbfounded, feeling unreal as she stared at the shining Gold Coin in her hand; it was the first time she had ever touched such a glittering thing.

"1 Gold Coin is equal to 100 Silver Coins, how many Copper Coins?" Little Tail also couldn't count, but she knew it was a lot, a lot. It was the first time she had so much money, and for a moment, her brain couldn't function well.

Seeing her frozen in place, Lu Yu didn't care. He opened the system shop and began his journey of spending Points.

"In the shop, Qi Blood Pill costs 600 Points each, which is 60 Gold Coins per pill. Let's first charge 600 Gold Coins," Lu Yu decided after some contemplation.

When Lu Yu confirmed the recharge, the 600 Gold Coins disappeared from his backpack, and the Points on the shop interface went from 0 to 6000.

Buy all Qi Blood Pills, and then sell them for a profit. Back and forth, I can endlessly extract benefits from the system shop.

Lu Yu felt optimistic, so he went to find the shopkeeper at the pharmacy, saying he wanted to sell Qi Blood Pills to him.

"What? The acquisition price is 60 Gold Coins." Lu Yu stared at the shopkeeper with wide eyes.

The shopkeeper whispered, "Shh, keep it down. Qi Blood Pills sell for 80 Gold Coins. Don't think it's expensive, because outsiders who come to our pharmacy pay 90 Gold Coins per pill."

Lu Yu: "..."

Losing the thought of making a profit from price differences, Lu Yu actually knew the game wouldn't leave such an obvious loophole for him. But he was previously broke, and money was all over his mind.

Back in the rear courtyard, Lu Yu took the Qi Blood Pill and started practicing the No Edge Blade Technique. After consuming the Qi Blood Pill, he ate two Body Tempering Pills and discovered that they also had an effect during his practice of the No Edge Blade Technique.

Taking out the Tempered Steel Greatsword, Lu Yu began training, swinging the heavy sword in the courtyard, creating whooshing sounds.

Little Tail hid in the room, afraid to come out, as the sound was too terrifying.

Lu Yu felt the effects of the Qi Blood Pill and Body Tempering Pill were wearing off, so he exited training early to prevent overexertion that could lead to fatigue and significant bodily harm.

After taking a bath and changing clothes, Lu Yu looked at Little Tail standing at the door and asked, "Have you decided what to buy?"

"I have." Little Tail nodded vigorously.

"Let's go!" Lu Yu took Little Tail and left the courtyard.

The guard looked at the girl following behind Lu Yu but said nothing. After several days of observation, he discovered that Lu Yu wasn't as he initially thought.

"Here, customer, take this. These are your drumsticks." Little Tail held the fragrant two drumsticks handed to her by the vendor and offered one to Lu Yu.

Lu Yu didn't expect her to come out just to buy drumsticks to eat. Isn't eating in the courtyard every day already enough?

He took a drumstick and found it really tasted quite nice.

Little Tail handed her Gold Coins to the vendor, who saw the Gold Coins and helplessly said, "One drumstick is 8 Copper Coins, two drumsticks total 16 Copper Coins. I can't give change for this."

Upon hearing this, Little Tail looked somewhat flustered and looked at Lu Yu.

Lu Yu also didn't expect drumsticks to be this cheap, only 8 Copper Coins each. He hadn't seen Copper Coins until now, let alone Silver Coins.

He said to the vendor, "Wait a moment."

He went to the shop nearby Han Mansion, exchanged for some loose change, and gave 16 Copper Coins to the vendor, then left with Little Tail.

Silver Coins are about the size of large old ten-cent coins. Copper Coins are thinner disc-like shapes with a square hole in the middle, similar in size to Silver Coins but are brass-colored and much thinner.

As they walked along the road, Little Tail hesitated for a moment, tugging Lu Yu's clothes and holding her Gold Coins up to him.

Lu Yu glanced back and casually said, "Keep it for yourself."

Upon hearing this, Little Tail quickly hid her Gold Coins, and glanced at the surrounding crowd, afraid someone might rob her.

Seeing no one was watching her, Little Tail sighed in relief but kept her hand over her pocket, unwilling to let go, while holding the drumstick, walking and biting it.

After walking for a while, Lu Yu turned to check on Little Tail and saw her staring at paper-folded toy hats on a roadside stall.

Lu Yu went over, picked up a hat, paid the vendor then placed the hat on Little Tail's head.

"Just say what you want, you're a wealthy person now."

Little Tail held the hat and shook her head, indicating there's nothing she wanted to buy.

Sighing, Lu Yu continued to accompany her around town, as night fell, many vendors packed up and returned home.

Lu Yu and Little Tail returned to the rear courtyard. In the end, Little Tail had only bought two drumsticks and a paper hat.

After finishing the meal prepared by the servants, Lu Yu practiced the Fierce Tiger Fist for a while, then went to sleep.

With the accelerated training during this period, all techniques in the Fierce Tiger Fist have reached an advanced proficiency. Among them, the longest practiced technique, Hungry Tiger Pounce, was soon about to break through.

After training Evil Tiger Roar to advanced proficiency, it started to show power. Evil Tiger Roar, similar to He Dong Lion's Roar, utilizes Qi Blood to unleash strong sonic wave attacks that stun enemies briefly.

Before reaching advanced proficiency, the Qi Blood circulation speed when performing Evil Tiger Roar was too slow, failing to achieve the surprising and mind-shaking effect.

Additionally, because it requires Qi Blood concentration in the lungs and throat for eruption, it affects Qi Blood circulation in other techniques, making them hard to connect well, hence Lu Yu rarely uses it in battles.
