Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Traditional Martial Arts?

Little Li summarized: "Once those people find something they can't handle, they'll just throw money at it!"

Seeing Little Li looking envious, jealous, and resentful, Lu Ren was speechless: "Why don't you take the job?"

"Forget it." Little Li shook his head repeatedly: "With my small build, I'd go in standing and come out horizontal."

During the half-hour, Lu Ren was bored and kept talking to Little Li, whose real name was Li Cunyi. As the conversation went on, he taught many practical fighting techniques.

"Don't be fooled by how they fight back and forth in martial arts movies; it's hard to do in reality. Training that kind of superb reflex ability is difficult, and there are few people with extraordinary talent like Tyson. Getting hit is unavoidable, so no matter what type of martial arts you learn, be it free combat, boxing, or traditional martial arts, a true master will first teach you how to take a hit. Only after you've learned to stand steady can you move on to the next move."

Li Cunyi showed a look of reminiscence, with an uncontrollable sense of amazement: "A true martial artist doesn't show off, but once they strike, it's earth-shattering, possessing unparalleled power, splitting mountains and rocks without a problem."

Lu Ren was clearly skeptical: "Really, I don't believe it."

Li Cunyi didn't argue, knowing that many people nowadays don't think highly of traditional martial arts, and smiled: "Honestly, I used to doubt it too. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, it would be hard to imagine such super masters still exist in modern society!"

He whispered: "Coach Zhang Kui at Power Burning Fighting Club is a master of traditional martial arts."

Lu Ren's expression slightly shifted, thinking is it true? When he first met Zhang Kui, he saw him full of muscle, resembling those bodybuilders. The extent to which his muscles swelled during exercise was astonishing.

Such a physique may possess great power, but it moves relatively slowly.

All attribute points added to Power is not advisable for a specialized type of player.

For the next ten minutes, Li Cunyi was unusually interested, teaching Lu Ren various techniques. Seeing Lu Ren rapidly grasp and imitate the moves skillfully, he couldn't help but exclaim: "You're born for this, your physical fitness is excellent, and you often draw inferences in practice. Are you interested in joining Power Burning Fighting Club? With my recommendation, Coach Zhang will definitely take you in!"

"Thanks for the offer, I'll think about it."

"I'm serious, at Power Burning Fighting we have certified coaches. If you train well, you could compete in the country's hottest mixed combat sports events, and then you'd be rich and famous!"

Lu Ren smiled silently, watching Li Cunyi boast.

Half an hour passed, and a man timed it precisely to come in. He had already taken off his suit and shirt, replacing them with a pair of fighting shorts.

"Ready?" The man asked.

Lu Ren: "Anytime."

"Alright!"

"..."

Half an hour later, Lu Ren, who seemed quite relaxed or rather, the passive increase in Constitution skill level due to being attacked boosted his resistance to blows, crouched down to look at the man lying exhausted on the ground, clutching his arm with a pained expression, his face slightly flushed, breathing lightly.

"Sir, are you alright?"

This half-hour period felt quite pleasant for Lu Ren. His 6-point Constitution skill level and its ongoing passive increase proved his recovery was quite good. At least, the punches the man threw at him seemed more like a massage.

The middle-aged man lay on the ground panting heavily for a long time, glancing at the energetic Lu Ren and felt slightly frustrated, showing a trace of displeasure on his face.

He struggled to stand up shakily, waved a hand, and left without saying a word.

He showed considerable poise, despite feeling annoyed by the situation spinning out of his control, his good manners allowed him to quickly adjust his mindset.

Lu Ren secretly frowned, then went to the shower room for a bath and came out, glanced at the time, it was nearly evening, not even seven yet.

He handed over his bank card number to the club's finance department and immediately received his daily wage, feeling quite content, he casually had a meal nearby and then returned to the club.

Although he was a temporary employee, Lu Ren had access to the gym equipment inside.

No point leaving it unused.

While continuously hearing the skill level increase notifications popping up in his mind and enjoying the feeling, Lu Ren suddenly heard Zhang Kui's voice.

"Looks like you really enjoy working out!"

Lu Ren stopped the treadmill and turned his head to glance at Zhang Kui beside him.

The other was sweating profusely, obviously having just finished his workout as well.

"Just working out a bit." Lu Ren casually replied.

"Your resistance to blows is impressive. Even when Chen Feng attacked, you didn't suffer any injuries, just a slight redness."

Zhang Kui sized him up curiously: "Interested in training with me? You have quite the talent."

Lu Ren was rather curious: "Free combat?"

"No no no."

Zhang Kui shook his head slightly, raising his arm and flexing his muscles, immediately the veins on his arm interwoven like a dragon's, looking exceptionally fierce.

"Traditional martial arts!"

"Huh?"

Lu Ren looked incredulously at Zhang Kui: "Are you sure?"

Seeing Lu Ren clearly skeptical, Zhang Kui explained: "A true martial artist maintains an unassuming profile, concealing their skills until needed! Come, I'll show you!"

Zhang Kui, eager to introduce a promising young man with good physique, casually brought Lu Ren into an adjacent training room.

He took off his shirt, revealing an unusually strong physique. His waist wasn't the so-called toned waist but was solid and thick as a barrel, yet whenever he moved, his muscles were clearly defined, and his body fat was neither high nor low. But when he tensed his muscles, they would swell abruptly, just from his physique alone, he appeared to be very formidable.

A guy with all attribute points in Power...

Lu Ren felt a bit envious inside. Any man seeing Zhang Kui's physique would feel exceptionally envious.

Zhang Kui then assumed a horse stance, slowly pushing out his heavily muscular arms, accompanied by a deep inhalation. Under Lu Ren's astonished gaze, Zhang Kui's chest rose prominently, as if he had absorbed all the surrounding air into his body.

Quite terrifying!

"Hoo..."

As Zhang Kui exhaled sharply, even from five meters away, Lu Ren could feel a strong wind blowing at him, making him squint.

After a full ten seconds, Zhang Kui stopped, stood upright, and asked, "How does it feel?"

Lu Ren frowned and said: "Did you eat leek turnovers?"

Zhang Kui looked slightly embarrassed and a bit annoyed: "That's not what I meant, I was talking about my martial arts technique!"

"Very impressive, with such strong breathing, you're bound to live long!"

Lu Ren praised.

"...Want to learn?"

Lu Ren inquired: "Can it dodge bullets?"

Zhang Kui paused, then shook his head slightly: "No, to dodge bullets..."

He pondered for a moment, then said: "It's not a realm you can simply reach."
