Luke sat in the driver's seat, his gaze sweeping outside through the glass.
Luke asked into the receiver inside his collar, "Why hasn't the person for the deal arrived yet?"
Over the earpiece came Marcus's voice, "Don't rush, Matthew arranged it for ten o'clock.
The other party will be driving a black SUV too, and the contact will have a toothpick in his mouth.
Be careful when you make contact, we will support you nearby."
"Understood," Luke sighed, "Marcus, you have to promise me, next time, don't involve me in this sort of thing.
I'm a detective chief now, not just a plain detective anymore."
"OK, Detective Chief Marcus," Marcus said dismissively, trying to end the conversation.
Luke added, "Hey, I see a black SUV coming, it just parked across the street."
In the distance, Marcus in a van grabbed binoculars to look out, and instructed, "Go check it out, but be careful."
