Chapter 18 - Chapter 17: Be Good, Tell Me Your Name

This is the first time Yun Ran feels that pretending to faint is not an easy task.

[Should I wake up?]

[But how should I explain her improper actions if she wakes up?]

[Forget it, can't afford the embarrassment... it's just a pinch! Let it be, she can always find a chance to pinch back in the future.]

With her mind wandering here and there, Yun Ran somehow fell asleep without realizing it.

Nangong Mo listened to the girl's shallow breathing, and a trace of surprise flickered through his eyes. He shook his head somewhat helplessly.

She actually fell asleep?

This little girl truly has no sense of caution!

Is she relying on the belief that he's disabled and has a hidden illness so he can't do anything to her?

"Hey, wake up."

Nangong Mo reached out and gently patted the girl's face, making the girl in her sleep pout in displeasure, "Mm, don't bother me."

"What's your name?"

"Mm... I don't know."

The girl's voice was soft and sweet, tinged with a playful tone more than when she was awake.

Nangong Mo chuckled; his deep, pleasing voice carried unlimited tenderness and coaxing.

"Be good, tell me your name, and I'll give you a thousand pieces of silver, alright?"

"Huh? Silver?"

"Yes, lots of silver, all yours."

"Mm... Yun... Yun Ran..."

Yun Ran, huh?

The man raised his eyebrows, and a light smile spread across his eyes like deep ponds as he looked at the girl's peaceful, obedient sleeping face, his lips slowly curling upwards.

What a little fortune seeker, not even realizing she's sold herself.

Nangong Mo wrapped his arm tightly around the girl's slender waist, flipped over, and stood up from the ground.

Seeing the small figure in his arms, a faint ripple spread through his heart.

When awake, she's like a little wildcat with claws extended; yet asleep, she's sweet and obedient, so adorable.

Yun Ran seemed to be having a wonderful dream, laughing out loud, and her little face rubbed against Nangong Mo's chest for a while before finding a comfortable spot to fall deeply asleep again.

Nangong Mo: "..."

Where's the sweetness? She's clearly restless while asleep.

The next day, Yun Ran found herself waking up in a bed with no sign of Nangong Mo, nor those two remarkably accurate spirits.

Everything from last night seemed like just a dream.

Yet it felt so real.

"After falling asleep last night..."

How did he get up? How did she return to bed?

Did someone come in to help?

Wouldn't they have seen everything?

Yun Ran held her forehead, letting out a long sigh, "How embarrassing is that?"

"Princess, are you up? Today is the day you return home, and the prince said we mustn't miss the hour."

Once Yun Ran tidied up and went out, she was genuinely shocked by the array of gift boxes filling most of the courtyard.

"These, are all for Elder Lin... the Minister?"

"Yes, princess, these are all return gifts from the prince for you. Here's the gift list for you to review."

Yun Ran quickly scanned the gift list and almost lost her balance.

[Nangong Mo, that wasteful thing!]

[Didn't even spare her thousand silver pieces, and now doesn't blink an eye giving away millions?]

[Even with a vast family and fortune, this can't be the way to splurge! That's future money she must rely on!]

The key is, Old Lin's family with its big and little scoundrels, do they really deserve it?

"Where's the prince?"

"In response to the princess, the prince said he was disturbed by a wildcat last night; he's now catching up on sleep."

Yun Ran: "..."

[You're the wildcat! Your whole family's cats!]

"Alright, let's prepare to set off then."

She has things to do at the Minister Mansion today, and it's better if Nangong Mo is not there, so as not to affect her performance.
