Chapter 712 - Chapter 711 – Wanda Has Gone Berserk!

Wanda and Captain Carter clashed at close range. Carter's combat skills were undoubtedly top-tier, but surprisingly, Wanda held her own. Scarlet magic surged in her hands, effortlessly blocking Carter's fierce blows without so much as a scratch.

After exchanging a few moves, it was actually Captain Carter who was sent flying!

Keep in mind, Carter was essentially a counterpart to Captain America—close-quarters combat was her specialty. As the famous line went, "I can do this all day." Yet now, she was being overpowered by someone who looked like a frail sorceress.

Using the boosters on her back, Carter landed steadily and quickly countered by throwing her shield—a classic move in the Captain America playbook. Melee with fists, ranged with a shield—her combo was fluid and seamless.

But the speeding shield was halted midair by Wanda's magic. Not only that, she flung it right back—with poetic justice!

The shield flew back even faster this time. In the blink of an eye, it struck before Carter could react. She felt a sharp pain in her abdomen—and like a punctured balloon, all her strength seemed to drain out from the wound…

Thud!

The blood-stained shield embedded itself in the wall. The blonde heroine was sliced in half—cleanly severed at the waist.

Viewers gasped as they watched Captain Carter collapse, the light fading from her once-vibrant eyes. Groans and shocked cries filled the air. After Black Bolt and Mister Fantastic, Carter became the third victim of Wanda's wrath—another tragic and brutal death.

Outside the screen, Steve couldn't help but widen his eyes. His fists clenched tightly, jaw grinding in anger. Veins bulged in his reddening eyes.

Sam noticed and panicked, afraid Steve might throw his shield at the screen in the sky. "Hey, easy! Easy, Cap! That's not the Carter you know—and it's a video from the future. The future!"

"I know... of course I know..." Steve took a deep breath, forcing down the storm of emotions in his chest. He shook his head with a bitter smile. "But even knowing that, how am I supposed to act like I didn't just see this happen?"

When he first saw Captain Carter, he had considered saving up enough points to turn his Peggy into a superhero. But now, he hesitated. The way this Carter died—it was just too brutal.

Even if he knew it was a version from another universe, it still struck deep.

It was clear now—Wanda had fully succumbed to madness. Driven by desperate motherly love and corrupted by the Darkhold, her sanity had shattered. Now she slaughtered mercilessly, destroying anyone who dared to stand in her way.

After Carter's death, Carol Danvers returned and once again clashed with Wanda in an aerial standoff. Hovering midair, red and gold energy collided in a dazzling display as the two spun like tops under the sheer force of their powers.

Carol posed the greatest threat to Wanda—so much so that the battle seemed to affect Wanda's original body in Universe-616. This revelation stunned the audience. They realized Wanda in the video wasn't even the real one—she was possessing a variant!

Even if she was inhabiting another universe's Wanda, there had to be some limits, right?

Like a prosthetic arm—no matter how precise, it's still not truly your own.

Which meant, if the real Wanda descended… the Illuminati wouldn't stand a chance.

Carol and Wanda remained locked in a dead-even clash—until Wanda unleashed a power they had overlooked: reality-warping.

She had used it earlier to erase Black Bolt's mouth and unravel Mister Fantastic into ribbons. Now, she turned it on Carol. At the height of their energy clash, Wanda stripped away Carol's powers. Her armor fell off, the light dimmed, and she reverted to an ordinary human.

Though Wanda stumbled to the ground as well, she still had enough strength to retaliate. Spotting a tall stone statue behind Carol, she pulled it down with her magic. Carol, now powerless, couldn't dodge in time. The statue crashed over her, completely burying her body—only a trembling hand remained visible… then it stilled.

All four Illuminati members who stood in Wanda's way were now dead. With this fourth kill, Wanda had completely snapped.

"She died that easily?!"

Outside the screen, Pietro's eyes bulged with disbelief. "Captain Marvel went toe-to-toe with Thanos! She once carried a spaceship across galaxies! Her body's tougher than diamond! How did she just… get crushed like that?"

Watching his sister tear through everyone, Pietro felt increasingly disconnected from reality—and a growing sense of fear.

Stephen Strange let out a long sigh. "Don't forget—Wanda can rewrite reality. She made Black Bolt's mouth vanish. Compared to that, stripping Captain Marvel of her powers wasn't hard at all…

Didn't you notice?

Carol lost both her armor and her powers. Her indestructible body came from her abilities. Once she lost those, she was just a normal person."

Hearing that, young Peter couldn't help but gulp. "Holy crap… she's terrifying. Way scarier than the witches in any storybook!"

Pietro shot him a glare. "She's the Scarlet Witch—not some evil storybook crone. Besides, our Wanda would never be like that!"

Peter nodded quickly. "Miss Wanda's way prettier than any storybook witch!"

Stephen rolled his eyes at their childish chatter.

'Against a Wanda like this... even I might not stand a chance. The Scarlet Witch is terrifying.'

Some viewers might think Wanda's power came from the Darkhold.

But Stephen knew better. The Scarlet Witch was power incarnate. Like the Sorcerer Supreme, her title alone meant she was the strongest of the strong.

She didn't need any external tools. Wanda Maximoff was the weapon.

Back in the video, the crash of the statue shook the entire building. Stephen, still under Mordo's watch, turned his head toward the source of the noise, murmuring, "They're not coming back."

Then he turned to Mordo and snapped, "You were too obsessed with your damn vote—you sent your friends to their deaths!"

He turned to leave, but after two steps he stopped, spun back around, and snarled, "I know you've hated me since I first came to Kamar-Taj. I'll bet you were thrilled when you heard I'd fallen. Hell, maybe you're the one who gave me the Darkhold!"
