On the boundless expanse of the vast sea, a fleet consisting of more than a dozen ships of various sizes was cruising through the endless waters. Leading the fleet was a research vessel with a displacement of ten thousand tons, equipped with advanced instruments that continuously recorded and analyzed climatic changes in the surrounding sea area.
Trailing the research vessel was the flagship of the fleet—the aircraft carrier USS San Diego.
At this moment, inside the aircraft carrier's command room, a meeting was underway.
"Gentlemen, relax a bit," said Admiral Carter as he looked at the tense and vigilant officers before him, nodding in satisfaction.
"This time, we have been assigned a special mission to escort the Lone Star research vessel. I suppose many of you are wondering why such an elaborate deployment is necessary—why an entire carrier fleet is tasked with protecting a single research vessel.
