"What's that? What's it about to do now?" Charles, inside the diving suit, stared intently at the green lily pad beneath him.
The Black Blade, glowing with a cold light, was already in his hand, ready to slice down as soon as the creature's head emerged.
One minute passed, two minutes passed, three minutes had gone by, and whatever was beneath the lily pad hadn't moved at all. It seemed to have left.
Yet, with all the life-or-death ordeals he had been through, Charles's sixth sense clearly indicated that there was definitely something beneath the lily pad.
Since the other side wasn't making a move, then it was his turn. Clutching the weapon in his hand, Charles slowly made his way to the edge of the lily pad.
With only a few steps, he had reached the edge of the basketball court-sized lily pad. In the lightless environment, the sea was like a pool of thick ink, utterly opaque.
"What's below?" Charles wondered in his heart.
