Ace had just arrived at the Radiant Prefecture – also known as the City of Light. The Radiant Prefecture was considered to be the capital of the entire Divine Plane of Light, and although the Augusta Clan were spread right throughout the Divine Plane of Light, the City of Light was their true home; as such, it should come as no surprise that they would spare no expense at doing up their home. Still, even Ace couldn't help but raise his eyes in surprise – it was more like a utopia.
Even so, other than a slight hint of surprise, Ace didn't feel much else. Instead, he casually used his movement technique to appear in the sky above the giant residence in the very centre of the City.
He knew that all prefectures prohibited flight inside, and for a clan that was full of experts descended from Augusta's very own descendants, he knew they would be even more strict on rules like that. Unfortunately for the Augusta Clan, Ace didn't care in the slightest.
Because Ace didn't even try to hide his presence, the moment he appeared, many experts sensed his presence.
Seeing someone dare to fly in the skies of the City of Light, many instinctively thought it had to be some big shot, potentially even a Paragon or Sovereign, but the moment they realised it was an unknown Full God, they couldn't help but feel shocked, especially the members of the Augusta Clan, whose shock quickly turned to rage.
Many were just about to fly into the sky to teach the arrogant Full God a lesson when Ace smirked and shouted, using his Divine Power to make sure every single being present in the city heard it.
He told them that he, Ace Viz, challenged their Lord Prefect to a duel for ownership of the City.
His words cause everyone to stare at Ace speechlessly. Be they members of the Augusta Clan, ordinary residents of the City, or simply just visitors.
It was no secret that technically, regardless of which upper plane it was, anyone was capable of becoming a Lord Prefect or City Lord; one simply had to defeat the current Lord of a Prefecture to replace them, but it was because of that that each Lord Prefect had at minimum reached the Commander level, but the vast majority were old monsters that were nearing the peak of the Commander level and for a city as important as the City of Light, that was even more so.
Not only was the Lord Prefect of the City of Light one of Augusta's children, but he was actually the most powerful of his children. Still, the Augusta Clan wouldn't just allow anyone to challenge their most powerful expert.
Several experts flew into the skies at once to put an end to this humiliating scene as quickly as possible.
Seeing them, a smirk appeared on his face as his glaive slipped into his hand.
Before anyone could even react, Ace's body moved like a blur as he sent each of the experts flying towards them, crashing back down into the ground.
Although none of them had died, it did nothing to weaken the shock everyone was feeling.
Of those that Ace had just dispatched, they were all well-known members of the Augusta Clan, with the weakest being a six-star Seraphim – the equivalent of the Celestial Realm's six-star fate seekers or the Infernal Realm's six-star fiends – and the strongest were a pair of commander level experts.
It was then that they realised that Ace wasn't any ordinary Full God; he was a supreme genius infinitely close to the paragon realm. And then they remembered the name he had disclosed, more specifically, his surname – Viz.
Although now destroyed, the Viz Clan wasn't one that would be forgotten any time soon; they were too heaven-defying, but what was even more shocking was that Ace hadn't summoned a visual manifestation – the main reason many hadn't immediately put two and two together at the sound of his name.
That was when the sound of Ace's playful yet lazy voice rang through the city once more. He said that if this was the best the Augusta Clan had to offer, then it was a miracle they had survived this long.
His words successfully managed to anger the clan once again, but this time, in response, an army of experts rose up to meet him, the weakest of which were seven-star Seraphims.
Still, Ace was most focused on the hundred or so six-winged angels. He remembered when he started his adventure in this life that in the Yulan Plane, both the Radiant Church and the Cult of Darkness had the support of "Angels" and "Fallen Angels," respectively, that they had been gifted from the Sovereigns of Darkness and Light.
Still, they were merely mortals and saints, but these… each of these were at the seven-star level.
The more he looked at them, the more annoyed he became. He knew that each of them was an ordinary person who just happened to be born with innately powerful bodies or pure souls – like his and Linley's mothers; in fact, if not for his intervention back then, Linley's mother may well be one of the angels present here today.
He had initially planned to simply embarrass the Augusta Clan a bit, before taking the position of Lord Prefect for himself, but now…
Everyone watched in shock as a giant golden sun appeared to Ace's back. If they didn't believe it before, they had no choice but to now – Ace really was a descendant of the Viz Clan, but what really made those in the sky surrounding him hesitate was the jovial and playful aura that Ace radiated got decidedly frostier as he began to emit a terrifying killing intent.
If any of his family or friends who had a good understanding of his abilities were present, they would be shocked by the sight of his Golden Sun Manifestation. Not only had it almost doubled in size and power, but there was something fundamentally different about it now, even when compared to when he used it to counter Linley's Divine Ability.
The aura Ace radiated was no longer one of pure flames! No, now there was an added aura of light that seemed to perfectly fuse with the flames to create something else, but what was even more shocking was that Ace hadn't emitted even an ounce of his Willpower as he had during his fight with Linley.
Ace was just about to begin a massacre when another angel flew into the skies, but Ace could sense something fundamentally different about this one.
Whilst the other angels all had six wings, this one only had two, but unlike them, this one had a halo. Still, that wasn't the only change Ace could sense. This one felt a lot more pure, and less artificial.
When Amira fused with her manifestation, not only did she become able to utilise fused divine power, but she also became a true angel; her bloodline became that of a genuine angel.
It was because of that that Ace could sense the man in front of him was also a genuine angel, albeit one whose bloodline couldn't even begin to compare to Amira's.
The man hovering in the sky facing Ace was precisely Lumix Augusta – Augusta's youngest but most powerful child – the Lord Prefect of the City of Light, a fact that became apparent when the others addressed him as such.
Ace frowned when he heard that. He knew full well that Amira's mother was the very first and only true angel – save for Amira when using her manifestation. He knew Augusta had made a deal with Amira's parents; it was that deal which allowed him to create the army of angels he was so proud of in the first place, but he hadn't heard anything about him helping any of his children inherit the bloodline.
In fact, that was a feat that shouldn't even be possible, not unless you were a vampire lord. Even when Beirut gifted the four original Supreme Warriors of the Yulan Plane the bloodlines of the Four Ancestral Divine Beasts, he had done so by experimenting when they were still fetuses.
Once someone is born, unless with the help of a Vampire Lord, it should be impossible to give someone a brand new bloodline. At most, they could only enhance it, as Beirut had done with Alyssa, Wharton, Gates, and the other descendants of the four Supreme Warriors.
Lumix, though, from the moment he arrived on the scene, simply stared at the Golden Sun behind Ace's back, his face the picture of total indifference, but even without looking at the trembling, clenched fists of the Lord Prefect, Ace could still sense the emotions of the man.
Anger, frustration, unwillingness, envy, killing intent. Ace could sense them all; he just didn't understand why someone he had never met felt such emotions, as they didn't seem to have anything to do with his humiliating the Augusta Clan in their backyard, but when Ace heard the man's first words, it clicked into place.
The very first words that came out of Lumix's mouth were that Ace was unworthy of her.
Most didn't understand who he was talking about, but how could Ace not understand? The "her" Lumix was referring to was undoubtedly his wife.
Everyone present was an expert of the highest order, but the moment their Lord Prefect's words had escaped his mouth, they had lost track of Ace, and before they could figure out what had happened, Ace had appeared where Lumix was previously, and their city lord… he had crashed into the ground creating a giant crater.
Ace didn't particularly care about Lumix calling him unworthy of Amira – the opinion of others rarely mattered to him – but when Lumix said the word "her", Ace could sense feelings of lust and greed.
Ace watched as Lumix floated out from the crater he had created without so much as a scratch on him as his killing intent surged forth like never before, but instead of flaring out wildly, it now had a target!
