Chapter 23 - Alex no demon episode 23

The crowd stood in tense silence at the edge of the forest, the towering trees casting deep shadows under the early light. In front of them, Tomoa addressed everyone, his voice steady and clear. The group consisted off Alex, Serena, Sukuna, Kinto, Baraka, Son and Deo.

"This is the Battle of Domain. As you all know by now, youre going to be fighting against a team from a neighbouring country. ," he declared. "In this battle, you must give it everything. No holding back. The assassins from Raijin City are brutal beyond expectations. I'm not saying this too scare you, im saying this because its true. They dont play fair and their arrogant as hell.If you hesitate, you lose.". Kinto said to alex with a nervous smile "Bro sounds like he's got beef." Alex replied with the same nervous smile "I know. I could laugh right now." Tomoa said to them "Ey, shut up!"

Amid the crowd, Alex leaned over and whispered to Kinto, "You came prepared, right?"

Kinto smirked, whispering back, "I built some explosives disguised as weapons. It'll help us trick the enemy. I made a dead man switch as well. Just incase of incases"

Baraka, who had overheard them, joined the conversation. "I've got a bad feeling about this whole Battle of Domain thing. And plus, for you of all people to come prepared kinto, it means shit about to get real"

Tomoa raised a hand for silence. "There are rules. A powerful energy stone is hidden deep in the forest. Whichever team gets their hands on it first will be declared the winner. That stone is your main objective, and you are to get it before the enemy. Otherwise, you'll have to fight."

Alex's eyes lit up with confidence. "Heh, sounds like a problem, but whatever."

"Don't get cocky," Tomoa warned. "You'll encounter enemies on the way, no doubt."

Sukuna cracked her knuckles and grinned. "Serena, there's no way we're losing this fight."

Serena, distracted, scanned the crowd. "Where's Kazuki?" she muttered.

She walked up to Alex. "Have you seen Kazuki?"

Alex shook his head. "No idea… but I'm sure he'll show up eventually."

With a sharp gesture, Tomoa shouted, "Let the Battle of Domain begin!"

The massive gates to the forest creaked open, and immediately, the teams charged in—flashing past trees at the speed faster than wind, leaping across branches, and dashing through the dense forest.

Alex, Kinto, and Baraka were a blur among the branches. As they moved swiftly through the canopy, Alex called out, "Good luck out there!"

Kinto smirked. "If anyone needs luck, it's you."

Elsewhere, Serena and Sukuna sprinted across the forest floor. Suddenly, dozens of sharp needles launched out of nowhere. Both girls instantly drew their daggers, countering the incoming barrage with clean, swift motions.

Back in the trees, Kinto suddenly shouted, "LOOK OUT!"

He shoved Alex and Baraka aside as three laser beams travelling at the speed slightly faster than sound streaked toward them. Without hesitation, Kinto hurled explosive charges from his belt. The detonation lit up the trees and sent shockwaves through the forest.

"Kinto!!" Alex yelled.

A figure leapt through the smoke—Kinto, landing gracefully on a branch. "I'm fine!" he called out.

But before he could say more, another laser fired from a distant point, nearly striking him and Alex. Baraka reacted instantly—summoning his massive rock hammer, leaping high, and swinging with full force. The beam ricocheted off the hammer and exploded mid-air.

Baraka and Kinto dropped to the ground beside Alex. "Everyone okay?" Alex asked.

Suddenly, a cluster of high-speed laser beams rained down toward Alex. Kinto and Baraka moved to intercept, but Alex clenched his fists, activating a glowing technique.

"Flash Fist!"

A glowing, energy-based fist appeared on his palm and blasted through the beam. Alex struck down the incoming beams with his energy fist(Plus 20), detonating them in midair. Smoke filled the area.

"Alex, watch out—!" Kinto shouted.

A massive laser beam descended from the sky—too fast to dodge.

But just before it could strike, Son blasted in like a bullet, kicking the beam aside. It detonated in the trees, shredding the forest around them.

Alex's eyes widened. "Son?!"

"Relax," Son said coolly. "I've got it."

Kinto asked, "Where the hell are all these lasers coming from?!"

"Deo's handling it," Son replied.

Above the forest, Deo flew high with his rocket boots, scanning the terrain. Activating his goggles, he spotted the source—a figure shooting lasers from afar.

He activated his communicator. "Son. I found the shooter. I'm heading in."

"Hold him off," Son replied. "I'll catch up soon."

Deo smirked. With a burst of power, he rocketed toward the person firing at them. The guy shooting lasers dodged instantly as deo crashed into the ground with a crazy burst of energy.

The assassin, a smirking guy known as Jason from Raijin City, looked up who was the same age as deo. "You call that a flashy entrance? Try harder."

Deo tapped his robotic wristwatch as it turned into a mechanical arm. "You picked the wrong team to mess with."

Jason grinned. "You look strong. Don't disappoint me."

He raised his hands, firing a barrage of laser beams. Deo darted across the field at speed almost twice that of sound, his rocket boots were blazing him around the place. Trees shattered around him, but he kept moving, dodging effortlessly.

Jason laughed. "Fast one, aren't you?"

Mid-air, Deo built power in his boots and launched downward, crashing into Jason with a blazing kick. A shockwave rippled through the area, uprooting trees and blowing back debris.

When the smoke cleared, Deo was stunned—Jason had caught his kick.

Jason laughed maniacally. "That all you got? Looks like you aren't as skilled as you seemed. Can you even fight without that dumbass watch on your hand?"

Jason's hands heated up, glowing red-hot. In a blur, he vanished—appearing behind Deo and slamming him with a brutal kick that sent him crashing through dozens of trees.

Jason pursued, charging up another blast, but Deo recovered quickly, dodging just in time. Eyes narrowed, he activated his rocket boots again "If I couldn't fight by myself....

The two clashed at insane speeds "I wouldn't be able to use it" his said this with annoyance. Both strike from deo and jason were shaking the forest.

Elsewhere, Serena and Sukuna battled Sakura, a C-rank assassin with a chilling ability—she could weaponize her hair, shooting it like needles and forming deadly constructs.

Trees fell around them as Sakura unleashed a torrent of needle attacks.

She plucked a strand of her hair, morphing it into a glowing spear. "I can turn every strand into a weapon," she said, smirking while throwing her deadly weapons at a frightening speed. "I'm not just an assassin—I'm a walking arsenal."

Serena's eyes narrowed with her electricity crackling all over her body as she was dodging skillfully and sharply. "Stay alert, Sukuna. She's hiding something."

Sukuna grinned. "I can feel it. Let's find out what."

As Sakura charged in with her spear, Serena and Sukuna moved in unison, their daggers flashing. The three clashed in a wild flurry—metal ringing, branches breaking, and leaves filling the air due to the clash of the three girls. "TCH! WHAT THE HELL?!" Sukuna exclaimed.

The Battle of Domain had truly begun—and none of them could afford to lose.
