Ling Wei spoke in a rush, not even making eye contact with Mo Tingshen, her voice trailing off between her teeth. After she finished, she was about to leave but was stopped by Mo Tingshen.
"Mom."
Ling Wei stiffened, and before she could turn around, Mo Tingshen had pulled her into his embrace.
"Don't blame yourself, Xiao Yao never mentioned any fault of yours to me, nor did she ever discuss you in front of Suizhi. She never blamed you in her heart."
Tears instantly welled up in Ling Wei's eyes.
Mo Tingshen thought Ling Wei was just moved. He began to regret not sending Ling Wei away when he dealt with Mo Li, which frightened her so.
Chu Yao had never blamed Ling Wei.
But Mo Tingshen certainly had.
After all, before Chu Yao sought his help in junior high, he and Suizhi were in boarding school, Ling Wei was at home; she must have noticed something yet failed to protect Chu Yao.
He really had blamed her.
But now he had come to terms with it.
