Chapter 272 - I Wasn't Expecting That

Dom awoke in his bed back at the Manor in Central University, he still had a few days before term started and he didn't have any plans yet. Part of him wondered how to get in touch with Stephen, mainly to see if he had settled in well to Central as he had never planned to come here in the first place. He wasn't sure where he, Jessica or Rosie would be currently, but he planned to see them at some point.

He also wondered when Andrew and Kai would arrive, both had distances to travel and had gone to stay with family, but the large Manor felt empty on his own. After doing his usual morning routine, he got dressed and decided to go for a stroll to the Lakeside Restaurant again for breakfast. The weather was warm and there were more people around today, including some that were venturing out in to the lake themselves, in their swimsuits, bikini's and swim shorts. There was also a small ice cream stall that had been put up during his route to the Restaurant and Dom felt that the campus was more lively today.

He wondered if he could bring something similar to a vacation area in to Riverside or Serenity, where Civilians and Warriors could relax by the beach and play games, sunbathe and eat ice cream. Maybe Ice Cream wasn't possible as Riverside hadn't developed food freezing and there didn't seem to be much Ice to transport nearby.

"Maybe Crassus can help." Dom mumbled to himself as he ate in the restaurant alone. In the past, areas would ship Ice in so that they could use it for freezing goods, The North was quite far away but he was sure that someone must have set up a business shipping ice by now, if not a player then an NPC.

Riverside also had a varying spread of clothes, with residents from all across history and the globe. He wondered if they should work on simplifying the clothing styles to make life easier for those that made the clothes and also to create another level of integrating everyone together.

After eating his food, which was some Pancakes with Jam and Syrup, with a side plate of fruit, he headed back to the Manor to relax by the pool in the garden, where he would read Golden Sun's blog. The walk back was slightly busier than his walk to the Restaurant, as more people walked across the paths, or jogged. He also saw a small group cycling past and fought it would be a good idea to invest in his own bike to travel around Central University.

After arriving back at the Manor, he headed upstairs and put on some shorts, before heading in to the garden and relaxing on a recliner by the pool. He intended to swim before doing some online research, but first he wanted to read the Blog.

[Golden Sun VI here with my daily blog on World Conquest Online.

Excitement has been ramping up about the World Conquest Battle Maps that are coming up! It's a great opportunity to challenge yourselves against other players in key parts of history. I have done some research and if any of these battles were won by the other party, history would be very different. Personally, I think the Battle of Plataea or Battle of Lize will be the most fun to be involved in as they will be large scale clashes! But, I am not a Warrior class so for me it's not as exciting.

On a separate note though, I have heard that there are some upcoming competitions for non-Warrior related classes, so keep your eyes and ears open for updates in regards to these! Supposedly after several players have encountered deaths across the map, the increase in non-combat classes has increased. I do think a varied existence is fun though, and I intend to join some of the nearby hunts when I get chance.

Now, on to some interesting things that have taken place and been reported to me, Player Immoculus is a member of the TavernTastic Guild. TavernTastic are a group of like minded Players and NPC's that have a taste for certain establishments across World Conquest Online. They are supposedly relatively peaceful and when the City they were based in was recently attacked by Bandits, they jumped to it's defence! As a reward, the City Lord has granted them a manor to base their guild from. Immoculus has explained that they are going to turn the Manor in to a large Tavern to base their guild from.

Firstly Congratulations to Immoculus and the TavernTastic Guild for their success, however the purchase of property from a Guild made me think more on Guilds across the game. So I did some digging and spoke with Player WitchLover from the Where Is The Magic Guild. Now a back story about WitchLover, he is a Player who narrowly missed out on the Top places, having registered as twelfth in the Top Warrior Players and Fortieth across the Top Rankings.

The Guild that WitchLover has created have not only got a Guild Headquarters, they actually have a small Guild Town! After a brief battle, they took over a rundown Town from some evil NPC's and have attracted nearby settlers. Does this mean then that Guilds can compete with Lord Class Players if they pull in all of their resources? It's an interesting thing to think about, as the Lord Players get support from the Game to help them grow, where as the Guild's must do things the natural way.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how this develops, especially if we get to a stage of Guilds fighting against Lord Class Players in conquests against each other. I believe the upcoming Battle Maps could be a start to this potential game development. Lord Players could have a much slower growth and therefore will most likely need to incorporate Players in to their Cities to be able to compete.

Another interesting update has been the explosion of the game, supposedly many people are now purchasing this game so that once they have finished with work, studies or day to day life, they can escape to an online world in their sleep. I wondered what would happen if a family all logged in to the game and began living separate lives when online as they all spawned in different locations. It would be great if any players have any stories like this!

Now, a really strange update came from Player ItsyBitsyPolkaDot, She received a strange notification when playing, explaining that some erm fertilisation had taken place, and she had the option for her Character to become Pregnant. She declined it, and I haven't gone in to details about the how. However, this does raise the question, can Players get NPC's pregnant, and what happens if a Player chooses the Yes response! If anyone has received a similar notification and chosen Yes, please do respond as it would be interesting to see what happens to your in game character.

That is all for today's blog as I have things to do, however please do write in with your stories!

Golden Sun VI out!]

Dom read through the blog again, mainly at the Guild part of the Blog and the ItsyBitsyPolkaDot parts. The Guild bit was interesting, the world was vast and it made sense that Guilds could form and claim their own areas. Kingdoms in history often started with a small group and a vision and it was definitely another way of gameplay. Dom decided to keep an eye on this development as it could impact his own growth in the future.

He also had an idea, could Guild's be affiliated to Kingdoms. In some games and books that he had read, some Guilds were linked to kingdoms, such as a Mercenary Guild, Merchant Guild, Adventurers Guild or even a Chef's Guild. Dom wondered if he could get Andrew to convert his Mercenary group in to a Guild and see if it was possible to use them as additional forces on the upcoming Battle Map.

When he re-read the part about ItsyBitsyPolkaDot's situation, he was initially shocked before laughing, at least the game had given her a heads up. It would be interesting to see what would happen, but he knew that if he was a female player in that situation he would also have declined it. Having children in a game was definitely not his ideal way of playing something, that was more for life simulator type games.

Before getting in to the pool, Dom decided to write on the Blog and ask people about the Type 3's or any involvement with other human type creatures in the game. He suspected he couldn't be the only one and decided to use his title as a Top Player for once. He scrolled down the Blog and entered his details, before typing his comment.

[Lazarus here, reaching out to my fellow Blog Readers for some support. As you will know, I am currently Ranked as the Number One Lord Class Player, I am sure that will change when the next lot of Rankings are released!

My Little City has been growing well and It's been an enjoyable game style to play as. I am looking forward to the upcoming World Conquest Battle Map and it will be great to see how we can all work together on clearing these battlefields.

Recently, I have come across some challenging enemies that aren't human, but human like in nature. They were grey skinned, jagged teeth and more lighter bone structures than humans. We fought them mainly at night and also discovered an underground network that they had been digging.

I just wanted to see if any other Players had come across other human like creatures? I remember one player mentioned a Big Foot sighting and wondered how many other types there were. It would be interesting to hear what your interactions with them are like, has anyone had any positive interactions if they have?

Thanks in advance.

Dom finished writing his message, trying to keep the situation vague at first to try and gather some basic information, before pushing forwards for more localised information. After finishing his write up, he pressed post, before closing his device down.

He spent the next hour or so either swimming or relaxing, before deciding to sit down and do some research before he logged back in. The main thing on his mind currently was the usage of the three Temples. He hadn't attempted to use them yet, but based on his experience of other buildings types, he assumed he would have to choose religious figures or potentially create his own.

"The key things I would need to look at are variety of religions and ones that support our goals." He thought out loud as he went on to a search engine. "Farming is a key part of what we need and a large percentage of our population are farmers, so a god related to them."

Dom searched through, discovering that there were hundreds of gods from Ancient Japan, Egypt, the different strands of Buddhism and Hinduism, Ancient Greece and Rome, as well as Norse, Native American and the many other cultures that spread across the globe.

"I'm not going to be able to decide on this." Dom realised, thinking back to Roger from the Hundred Peaks who had a vast knowledge who could have helped him. After looking for a while longer, he accepted it was his loss. "I suppose I will have to leave this to Hatshepsut and Umako."

After finishing what he was doing, he made himself some food in the kitchen, before heading back upstairs to log back in, knowing that he didn't have many days left where he could play for such a prolonged period, as term would be starting soon. He headed upstairs and placed his headset on, and lay down on his bed as he appeared in the familiar room back in Riverside.
