Chapter 435 - AZI Volume 7 Chapter 57.5 Intermission – “The Monster Shrouded in White Fog”

"…"

Looking up at the gear-covered skies of this world, "the God" can't help but sigh, while thinking—

(Erasing my own memories is a part of the plan, but I need to get myself situated in this world first.)

Looking down at his hand, which had turned foreign, "the God" shakes his head.

Having sent Long Hua's soul out of the Leng Bing Realm, "the God" had taken possession of the emptied body—to better assimilate himself with this world.

However, even now, the laws of this world reject his presence here.

Stepping over the dense greenery, and emerging from the trees' shadings, he sees—

"…"

Narrowing his eyes, he sees a pack of metal bodies—with four wheels attached to them, moving towards his direction.

Using his divine senses, he finds—

(Are those things…-? The carriages of this world? The people in them, they seem human enough, but…?)

Among these humans, there are two individuals with horns growing out of their heads.

The first is a young lady with snow-white hair, and is dressed in a red qipao.

As for the second, it's a child, who looks to be around five years of age.

Unlike the young lady—who possesses golden horns, which look similarly to a dragon's, the child possesses black horns that are angled upwards.

"…"

Thinking for a brief instance, "the God" shrouds himself in a layer of white fog.

Taking a single step forward, "the God" appears a few meters away from the moving vehicles.

"…"

And at the point of his finger, all the vehicles are forcefully halted, and with it, all who are onboard faints.

Walking over to the lead vehicle, he forcefully pries the door off, and—

"Hm? Was I too light on this one?"

Muttering this, "the God" sees the five-year-old girl staring back at him with horror in her red eyes.

Despite this, she is nevertheless positioning herself in front of the young lady with the golden horns—as if to shield them from harm.

"…"

Raising his right hand, "the God" snaps his fingers—causing the young girl to faint as well.

Dragging the young lady with the golden horns forward, "the God" presses a hand to the former's head.

"…"

The name of the young lady is Nian Yao Yao, and reading through her memories, "the God" gains a general understanding of this world.

"Hmm."

Contemplating for a bit, "the God" decides to manipulate these individuals' memories to better suit himself.

Performing a single-handed incantation gesture, "the God" casts a divine art, which specializes in memory manipulation.

This same divine art will also be applied onto the people that these individuals have made close contact with—through the powers of minor karmic manipulation.

Within the made-up memories, "the God" shall be known to these people as Long Hua, an employee of NPI—who takes up the position of the organization's ninth serpent, someone that Nian Yao Yao had decided to hire after meeting them in the wastelands.

(She wishes to become the head of her family, does she? Hmm, shizun did say that having karmic ties with the natives is the best way to fit into a world. If I establish a contract—to aid her with this, will I be able to fit into this world better?)

...…

"…?"

Opening her eyes, Nian Yao Yao looks around, and asks—

"Hm? Why did we stop?"

Answering the question, "Long Hua" says—

"Because the door came loose—mid drive."

"…Oh."

Looking over, and seeing that—to indeed be the case, Nian Yao Yao can't help but frown.

Turning to Long Hua, Nian Yao Yao feels like there is something off about the situation.

However, she didn't question it much, and simply says—

"Whoever did the fitting deserves to be fired…"

"Indeed."

As her other employees get around to refitting the door that apparently came loose, Nian Yao Yao asks—

"So then? How does it feel to be out in the wastelands again? This place, it isn't that different from where we first met, is it?"

Shrugging his shoulders, "Long Hua" replies—

"I don't really feel anything."

"…"

As the two exchanged those words, Zhui Yun, who is seated between them frowns—also feeling like there is something off about this situation.
