Chapter 292 - The Beast That Can Grow

"How is this possible? I've increased the dose of the anesthetic. If a normal T-Rex were hit, it would be instantly paralyzed and collapse to the ground! But why isn't it having any effect?"

The burly man, shocked, watched as the T-Rex he shot with the tranquiliser dart continued running forward. It disappeared into the forest within moments, leaving the man and the others in stunned silence.

Roar! Roar! Roar...

The deafening roars of the T-Rexes snapped everyone back to reality. In an instant, the other T-Rexes had broken through the high-voltage electric fence, roaring furiously and charging in the same direction as the first.

Rat-a-tat-tat... Bang! Bang! Bang!

Seeing the T-Rexes escape right before them, the guards no longer hesitated. They raised their guns and opened fire. The bullets struck the T-Rexes' tough hides, causing a shower of blue blood. The burly man, having recovered from his shock, continued firing his tranquiliser gun, hoping it would work.

But to everyone's astonishment, the T-Rexes' blood was blue. Despite being hit by countless bullets and tranquiliser darts, they remained vigorous, showing no signs of slowing down. They quickly disappeared into the jungle.

...

"What is going on? Why do these T-Rexes seem impervious to injury? And their blood—shouldn't it be red? Why is it blue?"

Everyone was filled with the same questions.

"Why is their blood blue? I've studied their blood before. It should be red, just like any other earthly creature. What's happening here?"

Chloe was baffled. As someone who had personally worked on cloning these dinosaurs, she had never seen their blood turn blue.

"The color of this blood is similar to that of the monsters that came through the wormholes! But why?"

Dr. Hermann spoke in disbelief.

"That's right. This is the same kind of blood as those monsters. This blood, when spilled on the ground, causes severe, irreversible pollution."

Newton inspected the spot where the T-Rexes' blood had dripped and confirmed it with certainty after observing the severe reaction on the ground.

...

"Blood similar to the monsters'? Could it be that these dinosaurs were created using alien technology to be like the monsters?"

Hearing the others, Li Yue began to suspect the same.

"What do we do now? We're getting reports from all over the island that almost all the dinosaurs are in a frenzy. Guards from other areas also couldn't stop any of them. And for some reason, we can't reach John Hammond. Without his direct orders, we can't effectively respond."

The burly man who had appeared with the tranquiliser gun summarised the current situation and expressed his confusion about why they couldn't contact the park's owner.

"You don't need to wait for his orders. He's already dead," Li Yue said, dropping a bombshell.

"What? John Hammond is dead? How did he die? And how are you so sure?" The burly man, visibly shocked, urgently questioned Li Yue.

"Sorry, sir, but the situation is dire. You must tell us everything you know, or else..." He pointed his gun at Li Yue, his tone severe.

Perhaps due to his authority on the island, the other armed guards also aimed their weapons at Li Yue, awaiting his explanation.

...

"No need to drag this out. I discovered the old man's plot, and when he attacked me, I killed him," Li Yue said calmly as if discussing what to have for dinner, revealing that he had killed the island's owner.

"What? You killed John Hammond?"

The burly man was in utter disbelief.

"You killed Mr. Hammond? Is this what you did when you disappeared earlier?" Chloe and the two doctors were equally shocked, their eyes fixed on Li Yue.

"I'm sorry, sir, but I don't know if what you said is true, nor if Mr. Hammond is really dead. From now on, you must stay within my sight!" The burly man tried to control Li Yue, approaching him cautiously.

"Regrettably, I can't comply. Also, I can tell you that the one behind all this chaos is John Hammond. And your real enemy is that thing behind you."

Li Yue remained unfazed by the threats and calmly pointed behind the group.

...

"Is that... a monster? But the Pacific Rim wormhole is far from here. How did a monster get here?"

Newton, curious, turned around and was startled by what he saw: a giant monster standing on the island. It looked incomplete, with some parts of its body appearing underdeveloped or missing flesh.

"Wait, what's happening? This monster seems to be constantly changing, as if it's still forming!"

Newton's shocked voice rang out again.

"Is that a monster? How did it get here?"

Hearing Newton's repeated exclamations, the others turned to see the giant monster. Its entire body was slowly growing larger.
