Lin Chen had actually harbored this thought in his heart as well, he certainly didn't believe that the Great Wilderness Saint had sealed the Star Chart Spirit in his Sea of Knowledge just to genuinely give it to him and then wash his hands of the matter.
Perhaps, as the Star Chart Spirit said, he was merely using Lin Chen to observe what would happen between him and the Star Chart Spirit in the end, before deciding how to act.
