Time is but a particle trapped in a jar… A jar that must be broken or perceived… depending on who you ask… but as for me... I believe that time is our true enemy! One that should be tempered with… to be controlled!
For if left alone… Time will rule everything! It rules our lives… our hopes and our dreams… For, within time lies what we all seek! But cannot grasp it in the present! It slips through our fingers like sand in an hourglass! For though I was tasked with time… to watch it… to persevere it…
I… I hate it! For I'm doomed to watch myself fall! Fall to an unpreventable corruption! But that is not the worst of it! For I'm to carry the weight of time itself! To know the beginning and the end!
And not allowed to change it! I must actively fight against that which seeks to change the time! …Myself… Oh! How badly I wish I could save my brothers… my sisters… friends of old… to change wars… But… this is my charge… my weight… and my curse… doomed forever to watch countless lives born and lost to the cruel fate of time…

[what is that giant thing?] ask Layla
{A monster born from many lives… lives that were stolen by death magic… A terrible great magic, that comes from beyond the veil!} replied Lanthios
[I know that… I mean, how is this possible? To fuse so many souls and have a stable Equilibrium? The more dominant souls should be fighting for control! That thing should be falling apart!] replied Layla, as what she saw was not what Lanthios saw, for her eyes could see the very fabric of mana that made up the monster before her.
{OH! That well… I don't freaking know! You're the mage here! You tell me!} replied Lanthios
[But aren't you a shaman? Don't you talk with dead spirits or something?] replied Layla
{well… yes and no… I mean I can talk to my dead gnoll's ancestral, But They are not much help… and that "something" you spoke of would be the elements and they don't like to talk…} replied Lanthios
[Kay… then what do we do? That giant thing requires a whole raid of people to take down! There's no way the two of us alone can kill it! Azrael is completely insane if he thinks we can take that on!] replied Layla
{Umm. I don't think were meant to kill it but instead run past it… I believe our true foe is that death knight who's protecting the exit!} replied Lanthios
[Then what's the big guy for? If not to kill us?] replied Layla
{Oh! That thing will definitely try and kill us if it catches us! But I believe it is mainly there to prevent us from backpedaling out of the dark zone! Of course, assuming it can't enter their side!} replied Lanthios
[And if it can?] replied Layla
{Then we are trapped in a bone sandwich!} replied Lanthios with a shrug shoulder
[so, we can't fight it, and running away isn't reliable… then what can we do?] asked Layla
{we fight! And we run! And just pray that death knight is unholy!} replied Lanthios with much enthusiasm
[unholy? Aren't all undead unholy?] question Layla
{sigh, yes! Look, just get on my back I'll do the running, you do what all mages do best and freeze the fuckers!} replied Lanthios
[freeze? What's that? You know I'm a fire mage right…] replied Layla to the confused look on Lanthios face
{Are you telling me you didn't learn a single frost spell? In five years, not a single one!} yelled Lanthios in shock
[Of course not! My mother would be disappointed in me if she knew I learned a frost spell!] replied Layla as she hit her chest with pride.
As the two stood between fates, they looked out into a muddy plain with dying grass, and blazing light, to see shadows of hungry crows behind them as they made their run!
With each muddy step, the water reflected their forms. It reflected their expressions to their horror, for as the big monster moved to squash them beneath its strength! With each miss slam quaking the earth! Shattering the waters! Scaring the birds! While its flames left behind consumed everything and anything!
With a mighty roar of dissatisfaction, the monster rained down fire from its mouth! But as those flaming white balls fell onto the pair's path, Layla raised her hands and shot out her flames!
As her flames soared like a flock of beautiful butterflies, the second those flocks touched the white flames, the ball of white flame stopped! It stopped and screamed out in pleasant horror! Confused, about why she heard such a sound coming from the fire, Layla's eyes glowed their tune, to her surprise that the white flame contained a soul!
For in each flame, contained a trapped soul to be used as a medium! But that wasn't the worst part, the worst part was that there wasn't just one flame but dozens!
With this realization, Layla looked at the monster and noticed that the light around it was dying… it was in truth, a mockery of dimness to be sure, but it was there! Noticeable to her eyes…
[so, this monster uses its own source of power, its source of souls to light itself and to attack… is the price of our souls worth so little… to be worth nothing more than that of a battery… To be extinguished at a whim.] said Layla quietly to herself, but Lanthios still heard her.
{Layla! Now is not the time to think about such things! Focus on the battle ahead!} replied Lanthios while thinking, you just realized this now? Wasn't I and many others viewed just the same as these souls by the blood elves?
But while the pair continued in their run, Layla noticed something odd about the shadows in the reflection of the water… for with each past-by puddle changed ever so slightly from the expression she wore!
But putting the creepy mirror-like water aside, the fowls in the air noticed their food was getting ever closer to the dark side… no one to let a rare meal slip between their beaks, the fowls suicidally threw down their decayed bodies at the pair!
Hearing the birds in the changes of the wind, Lanthios quickly turned around and called forth a storm to rage in the sky above their heads! With thunderous lighting striking the fowls, the one that made it through the twisting thunder was met by Layla's scorching flames!
But while the pair was distracted standing in muddy pools, the big monster was getting closer! With the sound of each of its fists, Lanthios could feel it getting closer!
Turning back to leave the fowls to the temperament of the storm he called for, the mirror water below his feet shot out bone hands made of glass to hold his feet! Abruptly tripping and landing face-first into the shiny waters, more hands quickly wrapped themselves around the pair!
[Lanthios!] screamed Layla, as she was entangled with bony hands that prevented her from chanting her flames.
{damn it! I wish she learned some arcane spells! Like blink or something! After this were going to have a long talk!} thought Lanthios as he pleaded to the spirits for aid!
But would the spirit hear a frantic mind… No! For they require peace to be negotiated before they can be moved to act! Feeling and hearing the big monster at their door, Lanthios took a deep breath!
With a calmer mind, he asks the spirits of the earth to shatter his bonds with a quake! As the giant's fist was coming down upon them!
But instead of a quake, to his surprise, nothing happens! As the time clicked on fully expected something to happen, either to be squashed under fist and rock or to be freed! But neither of those things happened! Instead, he heard a voice through frozen time.
[You know I should let you die… for your existence threatens the times… but I will save you, for you will help me save him!]
