"Fine, hold him." Elizabeth said noncommittally, "If that doesn't work, pay him to shut up. If he continues to be a nuisance, have him disappear from this world."
The chairman, now with confidence, replied, "Yes, Miss Elizabeth."
Elizabeth closed the journal and made herself a cup of coffee.
Her father, Brule Lorentz, entered at that moment, "Is there a problem with your paper?"
Brule Lorentz wasn't the current Patriarch Lorentz but his brother.
Because of Elizabeth's excellence, Brule's status in the Lorentz Family had also risen considerably.
"It's nothing, it has been dealt with," Elizabeth shrugged, "Someone wasn't seeing clearly; a little cleanup and they fall in line. I don't have time for them; I'm waiting to meet the Ruler."
"The Ruler indeed values you highly," Brule said with pleasure, "Professor Herwen's lab isn't easy to get into. I didn't expect the Ruler to help you make contact."
