~JAKE'S POV đ„đ„đ„~
I was positive this was going to work. We were going to save Cassie. I was sure of it.
When I told Greg and Nick, they seemed to like the idea. They thought of it like an adventure, though I was sure to remind them of the risks involved, they didn't seem to mind.
Both of them have been my friends from the fire clan since childhood, so I kinda trust them. Especially Nick. People always misunderstood him because he was always quiet but I understand him in a way.
Greg on the other hand might be full of himself but he's always there when you need him which makes him good to rely on..
The day suddenly took too long to get dark. Maybe it somehow knew what we were about doing.
I gathered all the supplies we might need for the road. I didn't want anyone to get tired along the way until we find Cassie.

When the night finally came, I rushed down to the abandoned building to wait for everyone. I checked in on Cara on the way and she said she'd meet me there.
The agreed meeting time was 8.pm Sharp. Though I went earlier, I wanted to think over the plan on my own before everyone arrived.
The first person to show up was Phoebe.
She waved at me and came to sit close me. "Hey Jake." She greeted.
"Glad you made it." I say to her.
"Yeah. Even though this whole thing seems reckless and not something I would normally do but it's fine. I'm kinda glad to be a part of it. The last time we all hung out like this was when we were little kids. Everything was easier then." She said.
She was right. I've almost forgotten that we all used to be close once. All of us children of the elementals.
"Yeah. Seems like a very long time ago."I managed to say.
"Why did we drift apart though? I mean, we just all suddenly pretended like we didn't know one another and treated each other like we didn't exist to each other." She said.
"I don't really know Phoebe, I guess life happened to us all and changed us along the way." I replied.
I really didn't want to talk about the past right now.
"Yeah. Guess so." She said and was suddenly quiet.
"Someone's coming. Two people actually." Phoebe said suddenly.
"You can hear them from this far?" I asked her and she nodded.
A few seconds later, the door opened and then Madeline started calling out. "Hello! Anyone home? Please let it not be that I'm the first person here."
"Over here!" I yelled out.
"Oh Hi Jake. Phoebe." Madeline said once she saw us.
The girl beside her just waved at us.
"Okay guys, this is my friend Gia, she's really really good in tracking down people. She has literally tracked down Cassie once before and she's agreed to do it again." Madeline explained.
"It's really nice of you to join us Gia. Thank you. You'll be of great help."I said to her kindly.
"Sure. I'm glad there's something I can do to help find her." Gia said.
"I hear more people coming." Phoebe said.
As expected, the door opened and Cara, Greg and Nick joined us.
"Whoa. Alot of ladies here. This trip is going to be great!." Greg said excitedly and I heard Cara scoff.
"Hey guys, glad you could make it. Thank you for showing up, means alot to me. Hey Cara." I said to them and welcomed Greg and Nick with a handshake.
Cara just rolled her eyes at me and went to sit down with Phoebe on the chair.
"Okay so now we're just waiting for Sage. Hopefully she doesn't take too long to show up." Madeline said and went to sit at the corner far away from Cara with Gia.
I know they don't really like each other anymore like they used to before. I just hope their differences won't get in the way of our plan tonight.
We waited for extra minutes before Phoebe announced that Sage was by the door. But she was confused as she heard two people's footsteps.
Sage wasn't alone.
I was tensed up to see who was with her then she came in and moved directly to where we all were. She was with Someone. Damon.
"What the hell? " Cara exclaimed.
"You told your brother??" Madeline asked her in disbelief.
"Yeah. I did. And he's agreed to help out." Sage said with a straight face and looked me directly in the eye.
"No." I simply said.
"What do you mean no.?" She asked in return.
"I mean No. He's not part of this and he's definitely not coming with us." I said with annoyance.
Damon scoffed and smirked.
"What makes you think you can stop me from tagging along? I've already made up my mind Jake. I am going with you guys. And this is about saving Cassie right? It's not about you." He said and pulled up a chair to sit down.
I looked over to Cara and Phoebe and they shrugged.
"It's just like you said, all the help we can get. Right?" Sage asked with her eyebrows raised.
I Shaked my head in disbelief. I can't believe I'm about to agree with this.
"Fine. I guess even his help counts." I said and gave Damon a glare and he smirked.
"Okay. We're all here and set to move. Firstly we have to get through the Gates without alerting anyone. So we must be discreet. I got you all a set of clothes. All black. If we go out there with our uniforms they'll know exactly who we are. So we better get changed." I said and distributed the pieces of black clothing around.
"What about mine?" Damon asked looking confused and now it was my turn to smirked.
"Oh there's none for you. You're a tag along and therefore wasn't included in the plan." I said to him and he furrowed his brows.
"I guess you'll be the first person they'd catch. Tough luck water boy.." Greg said to him and laughed which made everyone chuckle in amusement.
"Yeah yeah whatever. I don't need the damn disguise anyway. And I have my black leather jacket on so.... I don't care." Damon said but knowing him well, I know he did care. I just chuckled lightly.
"We all better go get changed. Girls, you all can move over to the other room while we, boys will change here." I said to everyone and they all complied.

After everyone got changed, we all headed out of the building and made our way towards the gate. But we only went through back roads to avoid running into anyone.
Once we got close to the gate, we saw two large guards guarding the gate. And luckily there was a building nearby where we all hid behind, contemplating our next move.
"Shit. How the hell are we supposed to get passed those big guys without causing a scene?" Greg asked.
"Let's just knock them out and move on. Simple tactics." Damon said.
"Didn't you get the 'not causing a scene' part?" Cara asked him and rolled her eyes.
"Yeah? Well then how the hell are we supposed to get them outta the way!." Damon said sounding annoyed.
"Let's just think for a second here." Madeline said.
"What exactly do you think we've been doing if not thinking huh?" Cara asked her.
"I wasn't talking to you hot head." Madeline replied.
"Ohhhh you little brat!" Cara was about to attack Madeline.
"Would you guys just grow the hell up!" I said to Cara and Madeline.
"Are you girls gonna start another girl fight? I love girl fights by the way." Greg said and everyone gave him a death glare.
Sage sighed heavily, stepped out, and started moving towards the guards.
"What the hell is she doing? She's going to get us all caught and probably suspended from school or worse." Greg said.
I didn't even know when Sage slipped out.
"Seriously Damon, what is wrong with your sister?" I asked him.
"I ask myself the same thing over and over. She's totally crazy." He replied and shrugged.
We all watched as she talked to those guards, and suddenly the guards started moving back inside the school and she stood watching them. When the guards seemed out of sight, she signaled for us to move. And we read the signal and practically ran towards the gate.
"Shit it's locked." Madeline said.
"Yeah no kidding." Damon replied sarcastically.
"Hold on I got this." Cara said and raised her hands towards the big padlock that was used to lock the gate.
Phoebe stopped her. "Wait stop. Don't you think they'll know immediately that someone left the school if they find a melted padlock?" She said.
"She's right."I supported her.
"We don't have much time people. Those guards will be back any moment now." Sage said.
"I got this. Let me try." Phoebe said and focused her hands on the padlock then suddenly her eyes glowed white.
The padlock started moving like a force was pulling on it and then suddenly it unlocked.
"Nice!" Greg remarked.
"Neat." Damon said and nodded in agreement with Greg.
"Thanks." Phoebe said to them.
I removed the padlock and chain, then slowly opened the gate. Everyone went out one after the other.
I chained it back up and hooked the padlock but it was still unlocked.
I looked over to Phoebe.
"Got it again." Phoebe said and used her air power to shut the padlock and it instantly locked back up.
"Again, neat." Damon complimented her again and she smiled.
I think if everywhere was bright enough, her face might have been red because of blushing.
We all hurriedly ran, far away from the gate just Incase and to be sure we were in the clear.
We stopped when we were far from the school gate and now in the middle of the woods.
"Wow. We're really outside the school premises. We really did it. I can't believe it." Madeline said excitedly while breathing heavily from running.
"Yeah. We really did." Cara said not believing it herself.
"Okay guys. We need to be more alert now than ever. We're no longer protected by the school barrier. We're out in the wild now. And trust me, there are dangerous things lurking out here in the woods so we must have each other's backs, we must set aside our differences and work together if we want to succeed in saving Cassie and coming back home safely.." I said to them and they all looked at each other.
"Geez. Drama Queen. We know all these already. Like we haven't been suffocated with the tales of the horrors of the outside world since kindergarten. Lighten up, would you." Damon said to me and i Shaked my head.
"Let's pray we don't encounter any of those horrors then maybe it won't be a tale to you anymore." I said to him and faced Gia.
"I think this is where you come in Gia." I said to her and she nodded.
"Okay. Ummm, I hope this works." She said and bent down to touch the ground, her eyes suddenly glowed green.
"It better work. We didn't come all the way out here for nothing." I heard Damon whisper to Greg and he chuckled.
I Shaked my head at them. "Would you guys keep it down." I said to them.
"Shush. I think I got something." Gia said.
We all surrounded her in an instant.
"Really?" Madeline asked.
"Yeah definitely. I saw Cassie. And They took her through that way." Gia said and pointed towards a darker area of the woods.
Our eyes followed to where she pointed.
"Um you sure about that?" Damon asked her.
"Yeah. That way looks way too dark and scary Gia." Madeline said.
"They went through that way. I'm sure of it." Gia responded.
"Okay. Then that way, we will go. Come on guys." I said to them and conjured up a ball of fire. It'll light the road up enough for us.
Greg, Nick and Cara did the same thing and conjured up fireballs And suddenly it wasn't too dark anymore.
"I guess it's not so bad afteall." Sage said and shrugged.
I led the way and the rest followed closely behind, with Nick at the back of the line.
