As soon as Gary finished speaking, Amden sprang into motion. His sword materialized in his grip, and with a swift, blinding slash, he struck toward Gary's position.
But even with his unmatched speed, Amden was a fraction too late. The space around Gary twisted and churned violently and in the blink of an eye, he vanished. It looked as if Gary had been sucked into the distortion of the space.
Amden's blade sliced through nothing but air, his target already gone.
"Damn it!" Amden roared, his voice echoing with disbelief and frustration.
The others in the room stood frozen in shock, struggling to process what they had just witnessed. One moment Gary had stood before them; the next, he had completely disappeared. Vanished.
"What just happened?" Dramon was the first to recover, his voice slicing through the silence.
Amden lowered his sword and shook his head with a bitter scowl. "He is gone. He used a teleportation treasure."
