"Right…" Whisker muttered, hoping that would be the end of it. Months spent together, and Ozeroth had found more ways to ruin his peace than he thought humanly, or spiritually, possible.
"Hmm… I guess I understand what you're doing now."
A flicker of hope sparked in Whisker's chest. Would he finally leave him alone?
But Ozeroth's next words crushed it.
"But the great Ozeroth is far superior to anyone you've trained. I'm a fast learner. This enlightenment nonsense isn't necessary. Just stand by my side and whisper sweet words of my greatness."
'It didn't work.'
Whisker's heart sank. He had always been able to dodge Ozeroth's outrageous demands with a little ego stroking. But it seemed that wasn't going to cut it this time.
'I have to pull out the big guns.'
"Hmm… alright. It's just like he said…"
Ozeroth's gaze sharpened instantly. "He?"
"Oh, it's nothing. Just something I overheard," Whisker waved lazily. "Probably nothing important."
