Dressed with a ninja suit with many utility items at my disposal, I found myself looking at the whole structure of the place we needed to raid.
This mission that was assigned to us was nothing more than a pry to our skills and intellect which I would gladly display as no teachers would look out for us, they only gave us a time and place and warned us not to escape as it would lead us getting killed, I agreed without any issue.
I was thinking of the things that I could take advantage of in this mission but in the middle of my thinking something brought me to think about my past...maybe because it was because of the mission, or maybe this was a relaxing day for me without the constant training on my head.
We had survived, a handful of people strong enough to undergo rigorous training and intense sparring but a lot had died throughout the years. I didn't have any attachments with any of them however it still took a toll in my mind for innocent children to die just like that.
When I was still a gang leader in my previous life, somehow I didn't tell them my relations with the gang leader but someone leaked it and drama happened, It was nothing to me but other members of the gang took it on a different interpretation and somehow made up their minds just to help me.
That sense of camaraderie they showed me gave me a sense that I somehow belong with them, that they were people that joined the gang just for revenge. It united us and made our bonds stronger to the point where they would willingly offer their life for me yet I rejected that notion as I didn't want them to die, so I carefully picked my battles and constantly hid from my enemy, before I overwhelmed them with my influence in the shadows.
I knew that I was doing it wrong by pursuing vengeance, but I didn't want someone to die in my sphere of influence. I was a bad guy with principles, not a bloodthirsty sociopath.
That's why right now my blood boils when I realized since the start "That Man" who created this facility was nothing more than a psychopath. Life has no meaning to him or he views the life of others like it is they are no more than animals he chops and feeds upon.
"Hey, you there?" It was night and the silhouette that appeared behind me called out, thankfully it was a familiar voice.
"I'm fine, Silent Bear." I guess I got too caught up in my thoughts.
It was already 3 years after I arrived in this "Ninja Village" which I once called a facility or a slave encampment and I learned a lot of things by observing. First, is that people who had been training us had unbelievable speed, surpassing even the fastest sprinter by threefolds in my previous world. I knew that only when an opponent that I sparred tried to kill the masked guys observing us with a sharpened stone knife. But in a matter of seconds, I found my sparring partner nothing more than a mush of meat in front of me. The masked men laughed at me when I shivered unintentionally at his cold attitude which I found intriguing.
It was an eye-opener, that even with the skills I have now, somebody was much stronger than me. I need to up my game too, I couldn't rely much on my previous world knowledge when there are literally humans capable of outclassing a tank here...
"Well, now that you've sorted out your plans, shall we go now?" I glanced at my companion who was impatiently waiting for me to act, he seemed a bit nice to me even though we met just a couple of hours ago, but there could be a lot of reasons why he acts like that, and one is we were free to talk on missions however when we meet with each other it is kill or be killed yet what he and I did was the complete opposite. We teamed up for our goal. We were on our first mission which was to kill or subdue a certain individual.
"So, what's your plan?" Silent Bear asked as he picks his nose.
Looking at the place, it was a military zone. With trucks, towers and infantry stationed at every point, it would get hard if I entered in front so the only way I could get inside was by letting Silent Bear neutralize the sentries and then I would move through the obstacles around to reach our target.
"There are a lot of sentries positioned at the tower, so I want you to knock them out so I could sneak in and deal with the target is that feasible?"
"That's easy." Silent Bear put his face mask on and disappeared from my sight.
"Wait! Oof, *sigh* now that that's out of my way, how could I enter and get the prize?" I observed the area more and saw a truck amassing a lot of explosives. There were a lot of guards standing by.
"I see then this might really be easier than I thought." I leaped through the trees hiding in the deep foliage to avoid detection, I also coated myself with camouflage in case it helped me blend more with my surroundings. Arriving near the base, I saw that Silent Bear had already neutralized the sentries and positioned them as dummies. I anticipated that we only had 3 minutes more before somebody noticed something strange. So I had to act fast.
I sneaked through the guards and arrived at the explosives, hooking up a fuse into the explosive and then lighting it up, I didn't waste time and distanced myself to see the fireworks.
BOOM!
The signal worked and the guards were on high alert. I was waiting for the target to show up to pacify the situation and he did, I knew that he was an inquisitive and fussy individual based on the file I'd read, so this situation I created was possible only because I knew what type of person he is, however, how would I go and kidnap that guy in front of many guards with guns? Simple, I shoot them.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
One, two, and three guards fell suddenly sending alarms to the target's mind, I moved from my shooting spot to another just to confused them as I already knew how they work so I shot in advance at their exits to prevent them from thinking of running there. They were already cornered rats so I didn't stop shooting all of them. They all fell down except for the target who was busy urinating himself. I was about to tie him up when suddenly, someone stab me in the back.
