"So what does this mean for the rest of us?" she asked seriously. At first glance this was a simple question but in truth it was layered with unspoken depth. She wasn't asking about my small group of people whom I had ties to but all of humanity. A new god rising, such a thing was unprecedented and she was concerned what it meant for humanity itself. Would my ascension be a force of good or a tyrannical rise? That was the question. "Very little will change in truth. I have no want to rule over the world or any other such nonsense."-
"With my ascension my goal will finally be achieved and I will never be forgotten as I will myself be eternal. I will have no more need to chase power or glory and can simply relax from now on. Of course before I do that I will take care of team rocket since they are the last great threat to humanity currently in existence." I said honestly. There was a pause as Cynthia took the time to truly understand what I said and what implications it held. As an archeologist she was very good at making inferences with even the smallest pieces of information so it wasn't long before she responded.-
"That's... surprisingly mundane." she said finally still clearly have trouble reconciling the information even if she understood it. "Did you expect something grand or complex? Sorry to disappoint but I'm a very simple person at heart. While I'd stay busy even as a god I literally have all the time in the world and thus have no rush at all." I said with a chuckle. "So literal godhood and you'd change almost nothing at all? I always pegged you as the ambitious sort with the drive and ruthlessness you acted with." she said sounding confused.-
"Oh I was certainly driven but everything I did was a means to this end, godhood. To be remembered forever, a lofty goal that I am on the verge of achieving. I just need to take that last step forward." I said with a true genuine smile. "Was it worth it? To sacrifice so much to achieve this goal of yours that is?" she asked softly. "It is. What I gave up was a small price to pay for what I am gaining." I said firmly.-
We didn't speak more after that as there was no more that needed to be said between us. I continued to ignore the abundance of emails I had and sent out a mass message to everyone I had ties to with a simple phrase "I'm back". After that I tugged on my bonds with my pokemon who were scattered across the region. Immediately joy radiated back from every single one of them and I felt the pokemon on the other ends start to move. Rune and Tank were the fastest to arrive to no surprise since they could fly extremely fast. -
Vulcan was the third to arrive as it's species was well known for their speed to begin with. Cratos came fourth also from the air but much slower than the other two who could fly. Yani was the fifth to arrive in a burst of verdant green as she sprinted into the area. Finally Gaia arrived through the underground no doubt creating a mass panic as she did. All seven of my pokemon were accounted for and each and every one of them radiated a strength far beyond what they had when last I saw them. -
I couldn't be prouder of them for sticking to their training even after I was gone. That said the first one addressed was Cratos who was only at the peak of the ace level. "You've gone as far as you can without evolving and it's time you received what was always meant for you." I said softly as I pulled out the last evolution token. Without hesitation I chose to activate it and in an instant a bright rainbow glow encased him that grew to a massive size that rivaled Gaia's back when she evolved.-
None of us spoke or made any moves as we waited for the youngest of our number to finish his evolution. Fifteen minutes later the glow began to fade and the new form of Cratos was revealed. He had a long thick serpentine body shape like a traditional milotic but that was where the similarities ended. His head was long and blunt with a mouth full of sharp white fangs and two antlerlike horns of gold growing out of the back of his skull. His whole body was covered in thick long sharp pointed rainbow hued scales that flowed smoothly from one to the next.-
Under the long body was four claws spaced apart with four digits on each though anyone with eyes could tell these claws were not meant for practical use as they were short and small compared to the rest of the body they were attached to. Down the middle of Cratos back was a line of silver fur that rippled like wind was constantly blowing through it. Finally at the end of his tail was the a large wide fan shaped fin of glittering silver that had five points that each gleamed like steel and had a purple hue to them.-
'An eastern dragon huh? How fitting for such a powerful thing.' I thought calmly as I finished my observation of Cratos. The pokemon himself flexed his whole body as though getting a feel for it which given his length and girth that exceeded all but a royal variant Gyarados was quite the sight. I didn't bother stopping him as he was entitled to be excited about his new form more than any other pokemon. According to the system that evolution had immediately shot him into elite levels and not by a small amount either. -
From ninety nine all the way to one thirty five in one go as all of his training and experiences had burst forth now that they were no longer held back by his body. When one considers the drop in levels that came after a fresh evolution to an entirely new form I estimated his true level to be about one fortyish. I wasn't all that surprised given his experience and sheer skill with his moves that he was so close to champion levels of power.
