"Drink tea?" Emily Simpson offered him a cup of flower tea with a smile and handed it over to him.
Lorne Noah Jackson had no intention of reaching out to take it; instead, he looked at her and said, "Go ahead."
"Oh..." Emily nodded, placed the teacup down, and after composing her thoughts, she began to speak in a slightly nervous tone, "Well... tomorrow, I'm going to travel with Dad and some people from his company... I was wondering if you were free and wanted to join us for a few days...?"
Her face bore the message of fearing rejection.
Upon hearing her proposal, Lorne's response was unexpectedly easygoing.
"Sure."
"You agreed?" Emily asked, her eyes wide with astonishment.
That Lorne agreed so readily took her by complete surprise...
"You didn't want me to go?" Seeing her exaggerated reaction, Lorne now asked, puzzled.
Emily shook her head in a hurry, "Of course I want you to come! Then... see you tomorrow morning..."
With that, she got up in a rush and scampered off.
