Felicity Lambert saw Anna Ainsworth's short message only twenty minutes later, because she had gone to take a shower after ending Anna's phone call. She didn't start work until 11 o'clock tonight, and it was not yet 8 p.m., leaving her with three hours to spare, so she planned to get some more sleep.
Holding a towel to dry her hair and wrapped in a bathrobe, she was home alone, accustomed to fruit-sleep, so whenever the house was empty, she often came out of the bath wearing just a bathrobe.
After she had wiped her hair dry and used the hairdryer, she was ready to go to bed when she saw her mobile phone flashing on the bedside table. Picking it up, she was surprised to find it was a message from Anna Ainsworth.
"Chris Ainsworth hasn't returned yet?" Her brows instinctively furrowed, and a sense of foreboding began to loom in her mind.
