Every household on the streets has their doors closed, and taverns and restaurants have shut down early as well, with hardly any ordinary residents walking the streets.

Only a large number of ragged beggars are curled up in dark alleys.

They sleep beside stinking gutters, sharing company with the rats in the sewer.

This is completely different from Rig City as Leonard Churchill had once read about in newspaper reports.

This mining city was once home to numerous mining tycoons, and beggars were so scarce that even poor people were rare. Because of the multitude of job opportunities offered by the mines, even the random falling of ore beside the train tracks was sufficient to exchange for a few pieces of black bread to sustain themselves.

But now, the city is nothing but a scene of desolation and decay.
