"Jiwon," Silas asks the boy following behind him, "Why is your shirt in the sink?"
"I had a burning fever and was lowkey out of control," Jiwon answers "Minseok was home and when he saw that there was something wrong with me-"
"Wait," Silas demands, "Di-did something happen...does he know? And is he okay?"
"Everything's okay," Jiwon reassures him, "He said I should at least take off my shirt since I had a fever and gave me some medicine. Then he went to bed, he was quite sleepy for some reason."
"Oh, thank god nothing happened. It's really unlike him to go to bed this early though. Well, maybe he had a tiring day?" Oh, if only you knew Sly...I don't know about the rest of the day, but he had a tiring morning and evening, that's for sure.
Jiwon's cheeks started to slowly burn again, thinking of all that happened that day. And a smile started creeping at his lips. I should be really thankful that Si kept his word and didn't look inside my head.
"Ji?" Silas asks, breaking the silence, "are you getting a fever again? Your cheeks are red," Silas reached out to touch the other's cheek and felt, indeed, that they were warm.
"I'm really happy that you're dealing with your first moon only by a mild sickness. This happens to a lot of people after the pain, when the first moonlight hits them, is gone. But I expected more from you since you've been suffering from the moon's impact since yesterday." Have I really?
Have I been suffering from the full moon? Or was it my mate? URGHH! Even thinking about it makes me mad, how big of a chance is it? Meeting my mate before I turned?
I wonder how I'll tell Si...
"Oh my gosh!! Jiwon! Do you know what this means? if your condition remains stable for a couple more minutes, you're officially a werewolf! You'll be able to benefit from all our...ehm...benefits?"
"Hahaha, yeah I know, Si," Jiwon answers, scratching his neck, "Wait...all our benefits?"
"Yes! I mean, you already have the heightened senses and group telepathy-"
"Wait, do we have group telepathy?"
"Yes, of course! Well, you've only communicated with me, or well I did with you, but once you'll get more comfortable with it you'll be able to talk to all three of us! Other than those things and our turning there isn't much left, though," Silas says, this time he was the one scratching his neck.
"That is, of course, until you find your mate. Then you'll...let's say...'unlock' more. But I don't really know what myself, since I haven't found them yet. You should be able to feel each other's feelings and, of course, there's telepathy. And well...I don't know if you can call this an 'ability' or 'benefit', but you won't be able to be away from them for a long time, and each other's touch should work healing. And since they are your soulmate, aka the other half of your soul, well ehm," Jiwon saw how Silas was feeling a bit uneasy to talk about this.
"Si, I know you, so I can guess what you're about to say and I've told you a billion times that you shouldn't act this weird when there's sex talk," Jiwon says laughing at his best friend.
"URGH FINE! Where was I..."
"The soulmate stuff?"
"Oh yes, of course. So since they are your soulmate, aka the other half of your soul, you'll be able to get your full potential or something like that once your souls have ehm...blended?" Jiwon could definitely hear the effort Silas put in to build that sentence.
"Well, good to know, Si. Thank you for the information. Now I'll never be able to have sex without thinking of our souls blending," Jiwon says, making extravagant arm gestures, teasing the younger boy.
But he knew that what Silas said was true.
He had experienced it.
He had felt it.
"My mom always told us about how wonderful a mating bound was. She told us about all the things it brought with it. As a small child, that was nothing more nor less than a miracle.
Normal people's children dreamed of a happy family, wealth, a good profession, or becoming queen of the universe.
We-we cubs dreamed of the day when we would finally find our mate.
It was -and is- the only thing we ever wanted to achieve. We would see after that, as long as we found our mate, everything would be fine. We could -and can hahaha- only imagine how beautiful it must feel to be with your mate, to feel their touch, our souls and bodies melting together. It may sound weird for a human, but yeah, since birth we looked forward to mating," Silas explained, looking at his hands out of shame.
"That's kind of like what we heard of marriage, though!" Jiwon says, trying to lighten the mood. Why is he down out of the blue? "But yeah, as you said, we dreamed more of ruling over the Milky Way than of marriage."
"Thanks, Ji, hahaha. I think Imma sleep here tonight. You will too, right? Since we both feel nothing I think it's ok."
As Silas was about to walk into their bedroom Jiwon remembered something.
The bedroom is a mess…
