Chapter One
"Ah!"
She screamed repeatedly, burying her face in Ryan Gregory's arm, shutting her eyes tightly, not daring to look!
The scream startled him for a moment.
Upon closer inspection, he realized it was just a cat!
Just a single cat was enough to scare her into a pale mess, cold sweat dripping from her forehead, clearly showing that she had been trying to act brave when coming in here with him.
Ryan Gregory had no choice but to gently pat her arm and comfort her, "It's just a cat, don't be scared."
As soon as he's finished speaking, the cat let out a perfectly timed meow.
Sofia Hamilton snapped out of her fright, glanced at the cat in the corner, and instantly felt a wave of embarrassment.
She'd made such a fool of herself.
But now that they were already inside...
Could she back out now?
No way!
She didn't want him to think less of her.
Besides, if he went in alone, she wouldn't feel at ease.
