Lydia Mitchell anxiously asked, "So, when can you bring them back for me to see?"
This question genuinely stumped Sofia Hamilton.
Up until now, she hadn't even considered bringing them back…
But seeing Lydia so excited and happy, she couldn't bear to tell her the truth.
She could only say, "Maybe in a while, when things calm down a bit."
"Then give me a specific time so I can have something to look forward to."
Lydia pressed on, leaving Sofia momentarily at a loss for words.
Seeing her hesitation, Lydia had to take a step back. "I know your situation with the kids is a bit awkward right now, but I believe Ryan wouldn't let you and the children stay by his side under such circumstances."
Hearing this, Sofia felt a wave of bitterness seep through her heart.
He truly didn't want her to remain by his side under such conditions…
So, he let her go.
Sofia forced a smile. "Aunt Mitchell, perhaps in a while. For now, I really can't bring them back immediately."
