Ever since Qiao Xiaomai rose to fame, she was either tucked away in the manor or staying at the Imperial Palace. Very few people have had the chance to personally taste her cooking. The dishes she crafted were sold only at Zuixian Building initially, and later exclusively at Jiwiju.
To be honest, food is best enjoyed when it's freshly cooked and piping hot—this is the peak of its flavor.
The manor is too far away for most people to visit, and while there are crowds in the Capital City, whenever Qiao Xiaomai was there, she would always be at the Imperial Palace. As a result, very few people could savor her freshly prepared meals.
Previously, dishes like sweet potato balls, sweet potato cakes, monkey brain spicy strips, and other snacks could only qualify as light bites, complementing the experience of watching shadow puppet theater.
After watching shadow puppet theater for so long, Qiao Xiaomai finally served up some real dishes.
