Yuning listened to his words, rolling her eyes. "So you don't have someone you like right now?"
"No," Gu Chen replied.
"Do you hate me then?" Yuning cautiously asked.
"If I hated you, I wouldn't be here," he responded simply.
Hearing this, Yuning suddenly gained confidence.
She stood up and leaned forward across the table towards Gu Chen. "If that's the case, why don't you give it a try with me?"
The dining table wasn't very wide, so when Yuning leaned over in a condescending manner, her collar was directly facing Gu Chen's face.
Gu Chen's ears heated up, and he immediately turned his head away. "How would we try this?"
"You don't hate me, which means you might come to like me," Yuning said assertively.
"Yuning," Gu Chen called out helplessly, "sit back down and talk properly."
"No!"
Yuning stubbornly moved around the table to Gu Chen's side, pressing down on his shoulder with her arm. "If you don't agree, I'll tell grandpa that we did everything last night!"
