"Thud," two figures collided heavily, producing a dull impact sound. Just moments before, a sharp green arrow, whistling through the wind, shot out from the interwoven silhouettes, flying far into the distance. Some time passed after the arrow had flown a great distance before the thudding sound was heard, exceptionally clear in this silent Divine Kingdom. Everything happened in the blink of an eye, the movements of both parties were too fast—if there had been any onlookers, they probably couldn't have discerned what exactly transpired in that instant. Only the two involved knew what they themselves and the other had done.
Time seemed to stand still as both parties remained in their collided pose, neither moving, caught in a deadlock that lasted nearly a minute. Finally, Pannis shook his head and spoke softly, "Uh, seems like I missed the shot, how embarrassing."
