Along the National Highway leading from the Provincial City to Xu City, inside a car repair shop, Boss White was watching Old Lang test a car.
The two had just left the Provincial City and hadn't gone far when Boss White made another call to his younger brother. Bai Jianming advised him that driving his own car while on the run was risky; it'd be better to switch vehicles. Boss White owned a repair shop and decided to head over to hide his own car there. He picked out a beat-up van not registered in his name to use as a getaway vehicle.
The van was in rough shape. Boss White, who normally ran legitimate businesses, hadn't foreseen his sudden turn into a fugitive and was entirely unprepared. Watching Old Lang test the broken-down van now, he felt impatient but knew he had no other choice.
