The venomous serpent's tail emitted a blast of poison gas, and the green fumes surged toward Basil Jaak's back!
"Damn!"
With his back exposed within the serpent's attack range, Basil realized the imminent danger and quickly dodged to the side.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed that Bertha had not yet realized the threat coming from the serpent's tail. Basil urgently shouted, "Bertha, watch out behind you!"
He intended to push Bertha out of harm's way, but he was already mid-air in his evasive maneuver and heading in a different direction, leaving him powerless to act.
As his warning echoed, Bertha felt the imminent danger closing in behind her.
At that critical moment, instead of retreating, Bertha let out a sharp cry and dashed forward, charging directly at the serpent!
Hiss, hiss!
The venomous serpent's tail sprayed poison gas wildly, but it missed its mark.
