Sumeru – God Making Workshop
The Doctor was visibly surprised to see Nolan and Nahida show up here.
The former had once caused significant trouble for one of his "segments," and the latter should've been under house arrest in the _Sanctuary of Surasthana_ under the Grand Sage's orders.
Their presence now could only mean one thing—
The Grand Sage had already fallen.
"Well, well… Long time no see, Doctor," Nolan said casually as he and Nahida approached.
"Last time, it was you who arranged the deal to get the Electro Gnosis out of Inazuma, wasn't it?
I remember that was for your Empress, the Tsaritsa.
"And now you've set up shop here in Sumeru, colluding with the Grand Sage on some so-called 'God-Creation Project'—
Are you telling me _this_ was approved by your Empress too?"
"You seem to know quite a lot… tch, that Grand Sage really was useless after all,"
The Doctor replied calmly, then added with a cold edge to his voice:
"Still, trespassing into another's territory and prying into secrets not meant to be known—
that's not exactly good behavior, is it?"
Just as he finished speaking—
Ding!
A sharp chime rang out.
Suddenly, a massive wave of invisible sonic force surged toward them without a sound.
Before Nolan could react, however, it had already dissipated into nothing.
Nahida had sensed it too. Thanks to her divine authority, she possessed exceptionally strong mental faculties—
strong enough to pull someone silently into a dream if she wished.
So disrupting that sonic wave and dissolving it with a burst of mental interference wasn't all that difficult for her.
"Doctor! How much longer do you intend to carry out these vile deeds?
Sumeru is _not_ a place where the Fatui can act without consequence!"
Nahida took a firm step forward, her tone sharp and unyielding as she confronted him.
At the same time, she continued to push back with her mental strength in secret.
After all, the Doctor had made the first move.
It was clear that today wouldn't end with just talk—
and if they were to hold him accountable, they'd need to display enough force to make even the Doctor wary!
"Lesser Lord Kusanali…
Hmph. Don't waste your energy trying to interfere with my mind. You can't."
The Doctor chuckled softly, having sensed the mental disturbance.
Things were starting to get tricky.
With this petite Dendro Archon here, his usual advantage in mental and spiritual manipulation was greatly diminished.
So much for resolving this quietly…
Still smiling beneath his dark mask, he raised a hand and said:
"Elemental energy is quite the fascinating force.
When Electro and Pyro merge, the result is a powerful Overloaded reaction.
"Now, what do you think would happen if, during that moment of Overload,
I used an immense amount of mental energy to lock it in place—
and then continued feeding it a steady stream of both Electro and Pyro elements?"
In his palm, flames flickered to life, followed by sparks of lightning.
The two elements fused violently, growing unstable.
And just as the explosive force of Overload was about to erupt—
his invisible mental power locked them together, compressing the energy into a small crimson sphere, glowing with crackling lightning.
As the flow of elemental energy continued, the crimson sphere grew darker, shifting into a deep, ominous red.
The terrifying force it contained was slowly becoming apparent.
"You're insane!" Nahida exclaimed in shock as she watched the Doctor's actions.
"If that thing explodes, this entire domain will collapse instantly! You'll suffer massive losses too!"
"This workshop lost its value the moment you two managed to infiltrate it,"
the Doctor replied casually.
The "God of Pure Mechanization" had already been completed, and all the experimental equipment here had served its purpose.
Abandoning them was a pity, yes—but not something he couldn't accept.
Standing beside Nahida, Nolan couldn't help but admire the Doctor's decisiveness.
What a guy—if things look bad, he just goes straight for the big guns.
Well then, no point in talking any further.
With a flick of his wrist, Nolan summoned an adorable _Baron Bunny_—but this one was a specially customized version.
To be honest, ever since he'd maxed out Amber's affection and unlocked this ridiculously powerful ability, this was the first time he'd actually used it.
"Huh? What is that? It's so cute!"
Nahida's eyes lit up as she stared at the hopping bunny.
"It's a good one," Nolan grinned.
But instead of tossing the Baron Bunny, he gently placed it on the ground—
and then activated his stealth domain again.
Grabbing Nahida, he quickly sank with her into the _shallow layer_ of space.
Watching the two disappear and leave behind only that strange doll, even the Doctor felt a twinge of unease.
In that very moment—
a deep, primal sense of danger exploded within his heart.
Instinctively, he hurled the _Overloaded Singularity_ away, while simultaneously summoning multiple elemental shields around himself.
Then, he vanished from the spot.
As for Scaramouche? He wasn't worried about him.
The _God of Pure Mechanization_ was shielding him—nothing should go wrong.
After all, he had built it himself—he knew its defenses better than anyone.
Just as he warped to a safer distance—
the _Overloaded Singularity_ detonated.
At the same moment, the cute little Baron Bunny, who was still wiggling its butt, suddenly exploded with blinding light and searing heat!
A terrifying wave of Pyro energy instantly consumed the Overloaded Singularity.
In the next instant, the Doctor watched with narrowed eyes as the shockwave and inferno came rushing toward him.
His expression didn't change.
Calmly, he reinforced his elemental shields again and extended more layers toward the _God of Pure Mechanization_.
According to the intel sent back by the "segment" that had previously fought Nolan, this young traveler—
was already leagues stronger than both that segment and even Scaramouche.
Back then, the Doctor had been confident that Nolan was nowhere near his level.
But now—he could feel it.
This young man had grown strong enough to threaten _him_.
His growth was… terrifying.
Boom!!
The explosion and firestorm rapidly filled the entire domain.
This secret realm couldn't possibly withstand a blow of this magnitude—
a strike comparable to a blow from a god.
Crack!
A sound like shattering glass rang in the Doctor's ears—
the sound of the domain's barriers collapsing, and his own elemental shields breaking.
The Doctor frowned deeply, quickly channeling more elemental power to reinforce his defenses.
Moments later, the entire domain was torn apart by the blazing inferno.
Both the Doctor and the _God of Pure Mechanization_ were blasted outward by the force.
High above the forest canopy, a massive violet mech suddenly appeared in the sky.
It looked like it was about to crash to the ground—
but just in time, Scaramouche managed to establish a tenuous connection with the _God of Pure Mechanization_, barely managing to stabilize its descent and keep it hovering midair.
Now standing atop the mech's shoulder, the Doctor surveyed the scene grimly beneath his mask.
His mood was foul.
After tanking that direct hit, he found—
he could no longer sense _any trace_ of Nolan or Nahida's presence.
They had vanished.
And now, he had to stay on high alert—
what if they suddenly popped up again and threw another absurdly powerful doll at him?
Caution was necessary.
