Hatchi awoke from his slumber yet again the warm and moist soil cradling his delicate body. He looked around, not that it did much in the dark but he still had the force of habit. Nothing seemed to be amiss, and there weren't any chunks bit out of his body so he began to try exploring his new skills.
Telepathy was currently useless as he had no one to use it on, but magic sense he could! The small worm tried to focus in different ways and eventually blue tunnels appeared before him! It was only a couple inches that he could see but this was his first time being able to see anything! Now he looked around and observed his surroundings, many worms around half his size were burrowing in other tunnels. If he had to guess they were probably his siblings, it seemed he was the only one blessed with so many evolutions! Here or there he could spot one of his sibling with small teeth and even one with a fully developed nose, but he was by far the greatest among them! Though as he thought about it he didn't feel all that impressive being the best out of a bunch of baby worms.
Eventually he decided it was time to go up to the surface now that he could both see and defend himself! His nimble body shifted through the dirt gliding to the surface fairly easily, the dirt seeming like water now that hed begun to get used to his new bodys movement. He was gaing speed before he suddenly stopped, a screen hovering before him.
[Congratulations on surviving one week, there won't be any reward as it is simply one to be alive]
He would've made a disgusted expression if he had a proper face, why give him an alert if it did absolutely nothing? He shook his head gently before continuing to climb upwards, what felt like miles to him was only about a foot of space. After around an hour hatchi noticed the dirt feeling drier and harder, it seemed to be the crust! Something that warned worms like him to retreat.. but he wanted to see the outside world! Even if it was mostly blue, he'd probably develop eyes eventually right?
The small worm struggled for a few minutes before finally managing to break free of the earth, it was almost painful to move around in the dry dirt! He took a couple deep breaths as he swung his head to look around, an unnecessary movement due to his mana sense but still a force of habit to the small worm. Blades of grass stood out like giants around him, and as he looked to the sky.. it was black. Everything else was blue but the sky was pitch black and seemingly very close to him, in fact hatchi began doubting it was the sky as this object moved closer and closer.
