Chapter 14 - Diagon Alley, Part 4

After their old get-together was done, none of those little guys were holding their backs to get their wands.

Garrick, like always in his sloppy style, spoke, 'Well, my little wizards who would like to give their first try'

Hermione said, "Ladies first."

Ollivander asked, "Which is your dominant hand, girl? Also, let me take your hand measurements."

Know it, miss. All replied, 'Right hand, sir.

Ollivander said, "Here, try this made up of ester wood and dragon heartstrings, 9 and a half inches."

Their reaction was not expected, causing things to flutter.

Garrick replied, "No problem. Let's try this."

After five tries, she got one with which she was able to perfectly synchronize her magic energy.

Ollivander, describing the wand, said it was "10¾" long, made of vine wood, and possessed a dragon heartstring core. It is quite a piece of work in itself.

Young girl, vine wands are among the less common types, and I have been intrigued to notice that their owners are nearly always those witches or wizards who seek a greater purpose, who have a vision beyond the ordinary, and who frequently astound those who think they know them best."

Draco from behind said, "Excuse me, nerd, but it's my turn to get a majestic and loyal wand like me."

Ollivander said confidently, "I just have a perfect wand for someone like you!"

After a minute,

He came with a green box, which is just like the color of Slytherin.

He said, "This wand is made up of Hawthorn wood with a unicorn hair core and 10 inches. This wand is reasonably pliant. The wandmaker Gregorovitch once told me that hawthorn "makes a strange, contradictory wand, as full of paradoxes as the tree that gave it birth, whose leaves and blossoms heal, and yet whose cut branches smell of death.". I would say it is truly a remarkable wand with a master like you."

Draco, with a smile, replied, "That's what I like to hear. Who's going?"

Dudley said, "I guess I will go."

The first wand given to Dudley was a disaster.

His second wand was a perfect match for him.

Ollivander said, "This, my child, is a wand made to be prepared for good and bad times, and it is loyal to the wizard who wields it. This is an English oak that demands a partner of strength, courage, and fidelity."

Draco said with a loud voice, "Mudblood with courage and strength??"

Ollivander continues, "Its core is made of aurey (also called Irish phoenix) feather, and it is 10 inches."

After a while,

Ollivander exclaimed with excitement, "Ahh... I have been waiting for you to get your wand, Harry Potter.

I remembered it being yesterday when your mother came for her wand. You know that you have got your mother's eyes."

After the two horrible attempts with the wand, the third one was the perfect one for him.

Ollivander excitedly said, "Now I am curious..."

Harry said, "Why curious??"

Ollivander continued, "It is holly and 11 inches long with a phoenix feather core. First, it is an unusual combination of wood and core. Second, the phoenix, whose feather is used in the core of this wand, also gave another feather. The other wand was sold out a long time ago to the person who gave you this mark on your head. I expect you to do a greater thing, like the master who owned the wand made up of the same feather. Yeah, he did a terrible thing, but it was great. I expect great things from you."

After Harry got the wand, they all left Ollivander's.
