It was almost half past noon and finally Nara decided to teach me some basic spells.
All this time it was either spars or a few new sword techniques for me to learn.
I myself was quite keen in learning new things so it didn't obstruct my training whatsoever.
I also began to learn more of an advanced footwork. Right now all that I had to do was to copy a dance step or whatever Nara was doing.
She was keeping 5 steps front and 3 steps back.
The first 3 are alternate and the last two are a bit tricky.
So it was like this,
Right, right, left, spin, and roll.
The movement looked very bad from a spectators pov.
Anyways, after some basic footwork, Nara finally began the elemental display.
"Aeris Gale", she uttered.
A translucent, grey coloured, element danced on her palms.
It was tiny but had a destructive vibe.
"This is a tiny gale spell, every spell has its own incantations and this one is called Aeris gale. I know sounds a bit confusing but you don't need to worry. All you have to do is pour some mana into your voice and imagine you wind element. Utter the words I said slowly and you will have your first ever spell.
And yes it is indeed that easy. Especially for you and me who have very high affinity with wind." She explained me in detail.
"Everyone possesess their own elemental affinity and they differ in ranks. Do you remember the bright light glowing from the orb while measuring your affinity?, that is one of the major indicator of how much affinity you possess.
The brighter the light, the higher your compatibility, and higher it is faster you can learn."
"Yeah, I get that but about people with lesser affinity, who will they conjure the spell?",
"Unlike us, they have to draw the rune of wind and then summon the element. This doesn't apply just for one element Roy, it's for every element. For people who never have affinity towards any element they can never use mana related spells. Even if they have mana." She explained.
'Hmm, so talent does matter here. I wonder what is the indicating source for this affinity. Does genetics influence whether the affinity we get is high or low?'
Runes was another new information for me. But rest of the things she described I already knew as I had read the basics of spell creation from the central library.
"Runes?? What are those??",
"You can think of them as mini poneglyphs.
They are quite difficult to master, but mastering a rune will make you incredibly strong even with your lesser affinity in magic. You don't have to worry about Runes and other things, for now focus on your spell",
I simply nodded and decided to check this out later at night.
After talking a few more things I quickly began doing what she told.
I slowly circulated mana throughout my body and gently remembered about how my wind felt.
Green hue, a soothing feeling and the denseness of my wind.
I could feel something raising inside my body.
I could feel the wind raging inside my heart.
I slowly uttered "Aeris gale",

.
Nothing seemed to happen.
I kept saying the chant again and again. There was absolutely nothing. I tried applying more mana but it didn't work.
Once, twice,thrice even 10 times. I kept trying but nothing ever happened.
"Calm down, don't be tense. It can happen. Be calm and call upon your storm. Feel the wind, treat it like your own body part",
'Body part....wait a second',
Something suddenly striked me, I quickly closed my eyes and started to focus around myself. I started to remember how I first felt controlling the wind.
With a sudden SWISH, a gale of wind danced around my palms.
The green hue and its strangely soothing sound brought me inner peace.
Finally opening my eyes I looked at Nara who was bewildered.
"I don't think I need to chant anything for whatever it's worth." ,
"...",
".....is it a good thing or a bad thing??",
"A bad thing",
"Oo fck me, not again. What now??",
"Idiot, you are the only person I know who can wield elements without a chant. Do you know what will happen if word gets around??" She asked slightly panicked.
"I'm gonna have to tell it Anna and sir Rey but for now, you cheeky brat, we have yet another monster within us" she said hugging me tightly.
'Monster huh....hehe doesn't sound bad'
For what it's worth it seemed like I was hugely gifted and I plan on exploiting that to my fullest.
But here's the thing, if you feel like there are too many good days in your life. Then you're absolutely right, it's an indication that your next hell is let loose.
That's what happened with me anyway.

Those who are wondering why I am deterring from the plot. I am not. Each and everything will fall into place. This chapters was needed to show the start of one of the worst clashes ever known to mankind.
This incident is like a spark.
Anyway enough with the spoilers, next chapter is going to be a banger...
