At the fabric shop, Yu Yi didn't want to eavesdrop, especially not on Wen Ling. Her luck was bad today; she actually ran into a young miss of the Wen family—Wen Xiang, the legitimate daughter of the Wen family's second wife.
The girl beside Wen Xiang was someone she'd seen before: Wen Xiang's cousin, Ms. Peng.
Wen Xiang couldn't contain her emotions, her tone full of resentment. "Why? I'm also a legitimate miss of the Wen family. I'm not even engaged yet. Why is Wen Ling being considered first?"
Ms. Peng lowered her gaze, signaling her cousin to keep her voice down, then asked, "Which family has your uncle's household set their sights on?"
Wen Xiang knew this isn't something to publicize. Her earlier outburst was simply triggered by seeing fabric in a color Wen Ling loved. "The Yu family. My grandfather and uncle have taken a liking to the Yu family."
At this point, Wen Xiang's expression became somewhat unnatural, as she had met the Yu family's son before.
