THIRD PERSON POV
Regulus yawned and squinted his eyes as he peeked at the sun outside. Folding his seat back into a chair he stretched his legs as he opened the small window to the driver.
"Good sir, how long until we get to Loren?" He asked.
"About ten minutes your highness, you can actually see the kingdom from here." The man replied.
Sticking his head out Regulus finally catched a glimpse at the kingdom of Loren, and to say its architecture was unrivaled was an understatement. The main castle stood above the rest of the buildings, made from polished stone, wood, marble and even designed with gold.
"Beautiful isn't it? Nothing compares to Loren's architecture!" The driver says as we start entering the main gates. The carriage stops, the driver gets off and says something to one of the guards. His eyes light up and he immediately barks orders at the other guards to open the gates.
Looking out the window, the shops in Loren were much busier compared to those in Eldorin. Though there weren't sausages hanging in windows and stalls everywhere compared to those in his kingdom. Finally a few minutes later they finally stopped, the driver told Regulus to stay put for a while since they were going to transfer his stuff inside.
Minutes later the door finally opened, Regulus stepped out. In front of him was the manor of the kingdom's royal family. It was superior in every aspect compared to his castle, the family's crest, the imperial eagle was proudly displayed.
"Come, your highness, follow me to your room." One of the servants said as they opened the main door.
Entering inside, the interior was just as beautiful as the outside. Paintings hung on the walls of the castle, the walls were coated in intricate gold, white and blue paint. The corridors were so long that Regulus was confused as to how the servant was able to navigate the whole castle.
Soon enough they arrived in the room, it was quite a spacious space, though it felt quite empty as the only furniture were a bed, a nightstand, a table on the other side of the room and two chairs.
"For a room so luxurious, it feels quite empty." Regulus mumbled to himself as he lay down on the bed.
"Mhm, this is really comfortable, maybe I should take one home to Eldorin." He once again mumbled to himself.
Getting up from the bed he walked up the door, but to his surprise someone swung the door open. That someone was Olivia, who was dressed in a plain but cute light blue dress.
"Oh! H-Hello Regulus! I'm s-s-so sorry for b-barging in your room!" She said, stuttering a few times.
REGULUS POV
'Cute' I thought, is it the dress or was it her stuttering?
"No worries, I was just about to go look for you actually." I replied. Well yeah I was going to look for her, after touring the castle though.
"Ah, is that so! W-Well I was here to inform y-you that we were going to go in a short while!" She answered as she started blushing from her ears.
'Is it that hot?' I thought to myself.
"Oh already? Alright, I'll head out now then."
"B-Before we go, I wanted to ask if you prefer to go to the Cathedral, or would you like to go to the ruins?" She asked while looking down at her feet.
"I would want to go to the ruins, I'm not a fan of cathedrals after all, as I prefer exploring the past if you know what I mean." I replied, chuckling at that last part.
"O-Okay, though we would have to take a ship to the ruins, and maybe b-bring some clothes with you? As we'll be staying o-overnight."
"Of course! I have no problems, I mean I don't get seasick after all." I proudly answered, after all I have never once had problems with the sea.
AN HOUR LATER
I was crouched into the corner of the ship as I held a bucket full of vomit and snot. Olivia was standing near me with a worried look on her face.
Everything rocked around me as a large wave hit the ship. Fatigue and nausea were consuming my body. As today I learned even mana was useless in the face of seasickness.
"A-Are you okay Regulus? We're almost at land, h-hang on for just a bit more!" Olivia said, comforting me.
This is embarrassing, I should've never spoken about not having seasickness.
Again the ship hit a wave, and despite my best efforts I couldn't control my mouth as I retched on the bucket once again.
My nose and mouth burned from the acid and with tears streaming through my eyes, I completely regret having chosen to go to the ruins first.
Finally, I couldn't express the joy and relief when we got to land. I thanked all the crew on the ship for helping me when I was at my weakest.
"Ahhhhhh, finally! We've arrived on land!" I screamed, catching the attention of nearly everyone. But I don't care what they think, I nearly died after all.
We continued our journey as we hopped on a carriage, staring face to face, we engaged in some small talk along the way.
"So, what exactly happened to these ruins?" I inquired, obviously intrigued by the fact a "ruin" was one of the main tourist attractions of a kingdom known for their architecture.
"W-Well, it was just an ordinary castle, but when the 'Split' happened this was the first stronghold to be taken down by the abyss and the demon lords.
Wait, demon lords? I've never heard of demon lords appearing in "Split".
"Demon lords?" I asked, leaning in to hear better
"W-Well from what I know, undead and abyss spawn weren't the only ones to emerge from the depths of the abyss. Later after they arrived, so did the demon lords."
"There were four of them, Dagon the king of devilish dragons, Moloch the prince of fallen angels, Kaos the demon lord of ruin, and finally Papilio the monarch of False Beauty."
These names, I've heard them before but never have I known that they belong to the demon lords.
"Loren and Valeria would have perished had it not been the combined efforts of the Godspared knight, the Lion, the Phoenix of Valeria and the Dragon slayer." Olivia continued.
"Wait, you're saying that the four legendary warriors alone were able to successfully defeat the demon lords!?" I exclaimed excitedly. After all, these four were legends in their own right.
The Godspared knight, a knight that has never had a scar nor has ever received a wound in battle. Some say the heavens themselves protect him when he fights.
The Lion of Loren, a legendary warrior, despite not having an affinity to any kind of elemental magic, he stands at the level of the Gods purely through his "transparent" aura of pure mana.
The Phoenix of Valeria, the man that split islands with his flames, a true testament to the word "Phoenix". During a battle he was said to have burned down an entire city with a single swing of his blade.
Finally, the "God killer", Siegfried, a warrior that hailed from Valeria, he is the only person known to have slain a dragon. With his greatsword Balmung, he was able to slice a dragon in half and turn a piece of land into a separate island, now named "Zerynth's Bane".
Finally as we finished talking, the carriage stopped to a halt, with the driver announcing we had arrived at our destination.
