A long, long time ago, there was a tribe of witches who lived deep within the forest of Yore, now known as the Nightmares Forest. The tribe consisted exclusively of women, their unique magic practices neither inherently good nor evil.
Their neutrality and mysterious arts earned them the label of witches, and their magic was often deemed cursed.
The forest of Yore bordered the Avaloria Empire, home to the elves, and over time, a strong bond formed between the witches and the elves. Many aspiring elves would join the witches to learn their unique teachings as their aptitude was similar to theirs.
The witches primarily conducted research on plants and creatures, making plant life sentient or creating potions so powerful they could accelerate creatures' evolutionary cycles, turning them into monstrous beings.
