Chapter 185 - Chapter 185: Stand Ready for the Ruler's Arrival

As we flew over the battlefield, I cut down a demon.

Gabriel launched in front of me, blocking a blow from a stronger demon before crushing him.

Then I had to narrowly dodge a blade.

Looking back, I saw the culprit.

A floating man with holes where his wings should have been.

I got a sense of evil when I looked at him.

Then he turned.

"Helel."

Gabriel snarled.

"You have history?"

Milel nodded.

"He was my ex, and he's the second of Lucifer. The only archangel that actually joined him."

"I see… let me handle him."

The duo understood. I didn't want them to lose to emotions, so they went back to holding off the rest.

"Well, Helel is it?"

"Indeed, I am a warrior of Lord Lucifer."

"Hm. Perhaps you could tell me why Lucifer abandoned the Ruler."

"Is that actually what you want to know?"

"Yes."

"Well, he simply didn't like how he did things, just like Gabriel and Michael."

"So, I was right."

"Mundane theory. I frankly expected a wild conspiracy, knowing you."

"Not all things need to be wild."

Then Helel sighed.

"You know, when the Ruler does arrive, it won't be 2 against one, he'll attack you as well."

"Of course, that only makes sense."

"Then why not attempt a temporary alliance?"

"Because you'll do the same thing."

Helel smiled.

"For a human, you are surprisingly knowledgeable in our ways."

"Remember, I used to be called the god of evil. I know how evil works quite well."

"And how do you know I'm evil?"

"You smell like Grendel."

"Hah, I suppose I would smell like my son."

I raised a brow.

"Oh, I bet they never taught you that in literature class, after all, the scribe that wrote the original epic didn't know that, but yes, Grendel was born of a demon and what we call a failed creation."

"A failed creation?"

"Something that forms in a different way than the Ruler intended. They are even more corrupt than he is. It's almost admirable."

"To you I suppose."

He smiled.

"Of course, you admire good will and strength, I admire corruption and the violation of goodness."

Then he smirked.

"You are interesting for an entirely different reason."

I smiled.

"Oh, and what's that?"

"You are good, yet… you aren't forceful."

I raised a brow as he continued.

"You are kind and compassionate, and through that alone you bring people to the light. Gabriel stood aside for millennia, letting the Ruler do as he pleased, simply because he felt that the Ruler had the right to, then you come along, and Gabriel finally gains the courage to reject him and find a new master."

"Of course, he finally saw directly how indifferent the Ruler was and made a decision. Me being there just provided that opportunity."

"Precisely, and you were the only one who realized that grace was a parasite. I was astonished when that revelation came to life."

"Yes, when it comes down to it, Demon's are the closest to a natural angel, but to be true to yourself, you need a master. That's why Lucifer could never truly become a supreme being."

Helel flinched.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, it's quite simple, Lucifer is powerful, but when did he get the option for Supremacy. Only after he consumed a grace. Same with Gabriel. You are beings that require a lead."

"Please, Lucifer never needed a master."

"I beg to differ. In the short time since he gained supremacy, he destroyed Eden and is now fighting a losing battle. He also lost to someone 50 levels below him."

"You…"

"Me… what. Are you so insecure that you can't accept what I have no doubts you already realized. You used to be an archangel, right? You likely figured that out shortly aft-"

"SHUT UP!"

He struck at me. As I though, he knew that very well. For how powerful the angels were, they were made to be servants. As such, one could never reach supremacy on their own.

I dodged again, then caught his hand.

"You know what I say is true, yet you react with only anger. You are a coward. You refuse to see reality."

"Ultimate skill: Blade of Divinity."

He struck at me and I blocked it.

He roared and tried beheading me, but I blocked again.

I kicked him and he flew back before using the momentum to turn and launch into me.

I threw my sword in the air, then I caught his blade with my bare hands.

"What stupid decision was that? I thought that Lucifer's sister in arms would be somewhat more intelligent."

"The decision of one who can call her sword to her like Mjolnir."

His eyes widened, but I grabbed his arm, so he was unable to move as my blade went straight through his spine.

He coughed out blood.

"Crap."

"Want'a keep fighting?"

My smile was full of menace, the evil being shivered before fleeing to Lucifer.

"Rose."

"Yes, Gabby?"

Milel snickered as Gabriel sighed.

"You are scarier than the bad guys."

"Makes sense when my main ultimate is literally called FEAR."

"Yeah, but it's scaring us too."

"… okay! Let's get to Lucy before you guys have a panic attack."

They groaned before following me further. Another two legions launched into the air. Perfect, I only needed 13 more levels.

Ruler POV

I stepped through the gate with all of my legions behind me. Many of my men gaped upon seeing the decimation in progress. All three armies were of near equivalent size, but every member of my and Lucifer's armies were 600 and above, but I fully expected this.

Rose was too smart to just attack with low levels, therefore she trained them each to the epitome of their levels, so as they rapid leveled by killing demons, they rapidly became stronger.

The lowest level I could see at this point was a 538.

Of course, those who couldn't adapt were lying dead with smite enchants, something I put on each of my soldier's weapons.

I knew that they couldn't revive smite, only I had that ability.

Of course, I knew how they revived in the first place, so it would be simple to stop.

"Cassiel, lead your force to kill those dragons."

There were 6 dragons there, of course 3 were dead, and I had the last, but unlike the two Michael nurtured, mine was assuredly loyal to me.

"Yes sir… all of them?"

"Yes."

I understood her concern, one was a child, but that child was heaving heavy artillery that butchered several demons at a time.

"Understood, sir."

Cassiel took off, then one of her wings was ripped off.

I spun to find a hook lodged in the ground that was hooked deeply into Cassiel's wing.

Many of her angels froze in shock as a force seemingly burst from the shadow, led by an irritating mutt.

"Rose was right, these guys do suck."

Then Sona blasted us with various magics while her sister continued with blasting the demons.

I looked at the Valkyrie legion only to see a gold clad catkin smirking at me.

Then I smiled.

"Welcome to the game, Rose Hood, it seems you do well with your beginner's luck."
