Saji quickly looked to the side, reflexively raising his arm to block the blow as Micael's foot abruptly came up from behind, kicking him in the side.
Thud—
Sliding to the side with the force of the kick, Saji looked in surprise at Micael, who appeared out of nowhere behind him. "What the he-!" But he didn't have time to ask because Micael continued the attack, still singing and accompanied by the beat.
"Micael! Você sabe quem é!"
("Micael! You know who it is!")
While chanting, Micael approached Saji with a Soru, his fist hitting hard on the abruptly raised guard.
"Responda agora qual o seu tipo de mulher~!"
("Answer now, what is your type of woman~!")
Thud—
Being pushed back a few times with a grimace on his face, Saji was about to question Micael whether he intended to fight seriously or not, but he stopped when he opened his mouth, his eyes twitching at what he saw.
This happened because Micael picked up his flip flops and was about to throw them at him.
Shoosh—
Quickly dodging one that flew towards his head, Saji, already getting irritated, was about to use magic when he heard the sound of applause.
"E num simples bater de palmas~."
("And in a simple clap of hands~.")
Clap—
With the sound of clapping combined with what sounded in the beat, Micael disappeared and Saji, already knowing where he would appear, raised a block when a kick coming from behind him hit him.
Looking at the smiling Micael over his shoulder with a frown, Saji had no time to widen his eyes slightly, surprised by the sound that echoed again right after the first one.
Clap—
Micael disappeared from where he was and Saji only had time to turn his head when a force hit him on the side, lifting him off the ground as he was pushed.
"Pra ti acabou!"
("It's over for you!")
"Do diabo não sobra nada!"
("There's nothing left of the Devil!")
"Frente a Micael Todo!"
("In front of Micael Todo!")
"Frente a Micael Todo!!"
("In front of Micael Todo!!")
Holding his sore side, Saji frowned at the shameless weirdo who was singing and, strangely, was now holding not only his flip flops, but also his shirt.
And once again, without Saji having time to say anything, Micael quickly ran towards him and, approaching, threw the things he was holding around him before attacking him.
"Quando estiver se perdendo em um mundo de diabos!..."
("When you're lost in a world of devils!...")
Clap—
Thud—
"Estarei aqui por voce My Besto Friendo!"
("I'll be here for you my best friend!")
Hearing the lyrics being sung, the corner of Saji's mouth twitched for a moment as he tried not to laugh.
"E num simples bater de palmas~."
("And in a simple clap of hands~.")
Clap—Clap—
Thud—
"Pra ti acabou!"
("It's over for you!")
In a quick teleportation sequence accompanying the sound of applause on the beat, Micael caught Saji by surprise again, hitting him in the side once more.
"Do diabo não sobra nada!"
("There's nothing left of the Devil!")
"Frente a Micael Todo!"
("In front of Micael Todo!")
"Frente a Micael Todo!!"
("In front of Micael Todo!!")
Away from Micael, Saji came out of his half-bent pose with his hand on his ribs, the sound of the beat stopped as Micael seemed to have finished his "performance".
"So? What did you think of my song?" With his hands on his hips, Micael asked with a smile on his face.
Saji rolled his eyes in response. "Nice lyrics, but it would have been better if you had spared me the whole show, what do you think you are, a character from the high school musical?"
"Hahaha."
"Don't laugh you son of a gun, I'm serious."
"Pff hahahaha."
Meanwhile, outside the mat area, the audience watching Micael's entire performance were silent, some still processing, while others simply didn't know what to say.
Sona, in particular, at that moment had a neutral face, but internally she felt a mixture of emotions.
The sheer disbelief at the boy's behavior, his apparent lack of shame was absurd, he seemed to have no notion of modesty or much less common sense.
And then there was the creepy familiarity that made her a little anxious. Sona had already made up her mind, she could not, under any circumstances, let him and her older sister meet.
The chaos these two would create if they became friends would be disastrous, specifically for her. She might never want to leave the Underworld again if something happened.
But putting that aside, she realized that he sang surprisingly well, she just hoped the devil he was referring to in the lyrics were the hostiles and not the race as a whole, or it would be like shooting himself.
But the most important thing she noticed was definitely his power. From what she knew, none of them involved teleportation, so there were only a few possibilities.
Either Saji lied to her or withheld information, or Micael didn't tell Saji the truth, but considering how close they are and Saji's lack of reaction, it suggests otherwise.
Or the other possibility was that his power had evolved to have this ability recently, but she found the first hypothesis more likely.
But still, she had no idea what his power was, her best theory was that it was the union of different bloodlines of different heroes from different legends, but even that seemed unlikely.
So, focusing on everything she knew and what she had witnessed of Micael, her impression of him was that he was someone eccentric with a seemingly unique power.
An extremely hard-working person due to the dedication and discipline he had in dedicating himself to different practices from an early age, his clear brotherhood with Saji and his eccentricity in singing a song in a sparring session.
Strange, unusual and weird were the adjectives she used, but not in a pejorative way, she still had respect for what he had strived to be capable of, his eccentricity didn't change that.
...Though she kept a polite distance from him to avoid future headaches, just in case.
Rias beside her had a calmer face, though the twitch at the corner of her mouth at that moment indicated more of her emotions.
She had seen examples of Micael's eccentricity before, but nothing as unusual as literally singing at such an inopportune moment, she was simply caught off guard.
But she recovered quickly, she herself had her eccentricities and since he was also an otaku...him being a little strange was predictable.
So when she came out of her processing state, she was able to enjoy Micael's performance without any problems and was amazed that he sang surprisingly well. She even wondered if he could compose a song for her in the future.
She also found it funny and a creative way to troll his friend.
In the end, she ended up discovering a new aspect of Micael's personality, her boyfriend had a unique sense of humor; she just hoped that when he tried something similar with her, he would sing a better song, preferably something romantic.
Even though she was sure that he would do something like that to her in the future, it was just a matter of them becoming closer.
So, she remained focused on the fight that was about to begin, with her arms crossed and her hands on her elbows, and the new adjectives "strangely funny" and "kind of cute" were added to Micael in her mind.
As for the opinions of others, on Sona's side, the girls were unanimous in thinking that Micael was strange and had a questionable sense of humor, but that at least he sang well.
Something that everyone also noticed, but that Tsubasa Yura paid the most attention to were his muscles, in Tsubasa's opinion, Micael had incredible muscles, the almost imperceptible blush on her serious face accompanied her opinion.
On Rias's peerage's side, they had a similar opinion, as although they had interacted more with Micael, they weren't really that close to him, to them this side of him was quite different from his calm or direct behavior.
For Akeno in particular, she found it quite funny, besides, of course, having focused a lot on Micael's shirtless torso, the sight reminded her of the video she still had of him.
With her characteristic soft smile and drooping eyes being narrowed, only she knew what she was thinking at that moment.
With Kiba, he just smiled strangely after the presentation ended, in his view Micael was someone unique not only in power, but in personality, but his face was now calm as he focused his attention on the fight that would take place.
For Koneko...Micael was a weirdo with a weird sense of humor and who sang weird songs, but at least he sang well.
And Issei was wondering if this guy was the same guy who scared him so much, he was starting to believe that strong people in the supernatural world were probably all crazy.
With Mari in the corner, none of this was news, because as the person who had known Micael the longest, to her it was simply her idiot brother acting like himself, no big deal.
Returning to the mat, after stopping laughing, Micael turned his arm with his hand on his shoulder, still smiling. "Alright, the warm-up is over, let's fight seriously now, use your Sacred Gear."
Saji raised an eyebrow upon hearing Micael's words. "Are you sure about this?" Accompanied by his words, he looked towards the corner, indicating with his eyes.
Saji wasn't worried about Micael, he believed that even with magic and his Sacred Gear Micael would find some ridiculous way to gain an advantage over him, his words were referring to Micael using his powers in front of Sona.
"I'm sure, don't worry." Micael responded with a simple nod of confirmation.
"Well, if you're sure, don't regret it later." With a smile appearing on his face, Saji then swung his arm to the side abruptly. "Come, Vitra!"
Micael watched silently as a purple glow covered Saji's right forearm and then a lizard-shaped gauntlet appeared.
But Micael raised an eyebrow upon hearing Saji's words. "Serious?"
"Yeah, and don't even come with that, you're the last person who has the right to judge me for saying a catchphrase." Saji said pointing his finger at him.
In reaction, Micael raised his hands in a gesture of surrender. "Ok ok."
"Anyway, I didn't tell you anything about my Sacred Gear, did I? As you heard, it's called Vitra, and if I'm not mistaken, it was made based on a dragon." Raising his arm in front of himself, Saji spoke with a proud smile on his face.
"A dragon, huh." Micael calmly looked at the gauntlet, the only thing he remembered about it was the name. "Cool."
"Yes, from what I've researched, Vitra is an Indian dragon that fought Indra. He was very strong, according to the myths." Saji's proud smile widened as he nodded slightly.
"Hmm, so that means your Sacred Gear is one of the strong ones?"
Saji's smile trembled as it faded, he reached up to scratch his hair in reflex as he explained. "Uh, kind of, actually."
"Huh."
"But don't worry, what I have now is enough to beat you." With his confident smile returning, Saji pointed his arm towards Micael.
And extremely quickly, a thick purple line shot forward and wrapped around Micael's forearm.
Raising his forearm, Micael looked at the rope-thick line in a luminescent purple hue, then looked at Saji, who spoke as if he had expected this.
"And this can do that too."
And with Saji's words, the effect was immediate, as Micael felt himself getting tired quickly and his body was getting heavier. "Can it absorb resistance?"
"Hehe~ not exactly, and she can do more, why don't you try touching the string~?"
Micael then moved his hand to grab the rope, but his hand passed through it as if it was just an illusion.
"Hehehe~"
Saji laughed with a shit-eating grin on his face while Micael stared at the rope with a raised eyebrow, his mind already spinning with reasons for being like this. 'Maybe only certain types of energy can affect it...'
Raising his hand again, he brought it closer, but this time his hand glowed faintly yellow with sparks.
But his hand passed through the rope again without hindrance.
'Ripple doesn't work, huh...hmm, I can test that another time.' Deciding to let this go, Micael then used a method he considered more likely to work.
Poof—
With a sound along with the smoke, a shadow clone of Micael appeared beside him and without wasting any time tapped his shoulder, at the same time Micael clapped his hands.
Clap—
Appearing where the clone was and with him in his place, Micael looked calmly at Saji as the clone disappeared with a poof.
Poof—
