"Get up," Otaru spoke, his voice empty but full of command as he walked into the room where Izanami and the high guards were. Instinctively, the high guards stood at attention, determined not to get on the bad side of their enforcer.
They knew what happened when anyone dared to cross Otaru, and they didn't want that. They didn't want to suffer that much, not on this side of the realm they had been forced to come to because of a truth that they still didn't understand just yet.
"Where is that damned rogue?" Izanami asked boredly, and Sakura stared at her mother, right in the face, before she closed the distance between them. It was a gesture so simple, and yet Izanami was horrified at what she saw in her daughter's eyes.
There was nothing. No emotion. No nothing. Just a void that she had always been scared would forever exist. Maybe a part of Izanami was glad that her daughter found humanity and was able to feel something. But the woman before her was different.
