Touching his own abdomen, Zed focused clearly on executing his plan.
"Absolute Seal" he shouted.
Although it was absolutely unnecessary to shout or even call out its name, as it was the first time, Zed did so just for some concentration assistance.
The Seal within his mind shook and Zed's energy reserves continued to shrink at an extremely fast pace.
As Zed was focusing, he noticed his reserves were nearing dangerous levels. Spiritual energy was in all beings, but for those who cultivate it was basically their life blood. Losing all your spiritual energy led to severe consequences in some cases such as fainting, pain, damage to his energy center and in the worst of cases, death.
Zed while staying nervous continued as he still had a little left and finally as it was just about to suck away the last of his reserves, Absolute Seal took effect.
He felt his whole body being covered by some sort of abstruse power.
[Spiritual Energy Sealed]
He received some feedback and the smile on Zeds face bloomed like a Monkey Orchid.
That's right, he had sealed his own spiritual energy within his body.
One might think this is a useless move but with the knowledge from the Sect, his past life and especially from Absolute Seal. Zed knew the moment it worked that it was going to be extremely useful.
Normally, spiritual energy is omnipresent so it is in all things and passes through all things. Cultivators in this world harness the spiritual energy and accumulate it in their energy center located in the abdomen two-three inches below the navel after passing through the meridians within the body.
The difference in talent allows one to harness and accumulate at a much faster rate than others but even for those heavenly talents, the body always loses some during the conversion of wild spiritual energy into one's own.
What this seal did is no matter how little or how much entered his body, it all became sealed. Making the potential lost energy when meditating go from whatever it was to absolute zero.
No spiritual energy can escape from within his body.
This was a clear boost to his extremely lacking cultivation aptitude. Although some testing would be required, Zed knew that his cultivation speed just received a great boon.
"Success! Haha, such a freaking broken ability!" Zed laughed in awe at his cheat.
He immediately decided to test it out and started running his meditation technique again.
After several minutes, he noticed two things and both couldn't help but make he giddy.
"F*ck! So powerful!" Zed shouted again as he couldn't handle the excitement.
He noticed that for the same time it took to accumulate a unit of spiritual energy, he could now accumulate about 40% more spiritual energy. Meaning this whole time even with his super slow accumulation speed, he lost about 40% whenever he converted it into his own.
Just one seal and he was able to guarantee a 40% increase when meditating, he couldn't imagine the speed he would accumulate if he included elixirs and treasures which further highlighted the power of Absolute Seal.
The other thing he noticed was that even as he breathed, the natural spiritual energy in the air that got inhaled alongside normal breathing ended up staying inside his body. Meaning he was officially passively cultivating for every breath.
"Thank you to whoever did this! THANK YOU SO FREAKING MUCH!" Zed shouted at the sky. He didn't worry too much about some noise as he was literally in the most remote land in the middle of the weakest spiritual field.
Thinking of this he lamented slightly at having lost the abundant spiritual energy gathered in the Sect Mountain. Compared to his current location, the sect was literally close to ten maybe twenty times more dense and that was at the furthest edge of the Sect Mountain.
"Forget it, with Absolute Seal, when I get stronger I should be able to remedy this a bit more." Quickly changing his attitude. Zed returned to sitting and continuing his meditation.
He had lost nearly 99% of his spiritual energy from creating the seal and he wasn't sure how long the ability itself lasted. He knew the Seal wouldn't last perpetually as it took energy for the Seal to function and even though it was a one time requirement of spiritual energy, it would consume the Seals energy every moment it was in use.
Maybe later he could permanently set up this sort of Seal on himself but for now, he had to work hard.
Focusing back on his cultivation, Zed promised himself to continue until the 40% buff ran out.
The night came and went without any disturbances in the field and the gentle breeze of the wind carried its charm through broken cabin door and graced Zed's face.
"This!!!"
Zed looked outside and noticed the morning rays were starting to creep over the horizon landing on the cabin and he exhaled a deep breath of satisfaction from the previous nights cultivation session.
"Unbelievable, last night's progress was almost the equivalent of two days of furious cultivation." Zed sighed in awe.
He had also figured out the length of the Seals duration. It lasted one night or close to 8 hours. This was tremendously useful to Zed as with 8 hours, he could refill his energy reserve within about 2 hours, leaving him with 6 hours of full accumulation of spiritual energy with a 40% boost.
He could technically Seal his spiritual energy 100% of the time and he also noticed that he could cancel the Seal in advance. Absolute Seal was literally and figuratively absolutely his.
Zed estimated about 10-20 years without his gold cheat, he could reduce that time by literally 40% not including the passive cultivation he would get from non-stop sealing.
It was a few percentages faster so within the next few years he might just advance to second rank. The thought of it motivated him thoroughly.
Zed was only 18 years old this year. Considering his projections, he might just catch up to those more talented cultivators who were outer disciples or even maybe the lowest level inner disciples.
Putting aside his stray thoughts, Zed didn't immediately use the Seal again but made a morning meal of two eggs and some rice.
After his light meal, Zed set off to take a tour of his new property.
This was going to be his home and his income source for the foreseeable future and he had to get to work immediately. He did have two years before fees were requested but that was precisely why he couldn't slack off.
The first two years were the grace period he had to develop himself and his land and produce results otherwise, he would fall into severe debt with the Sect and then he would just be a debt slave to the sect for the rest of his life.
He would never allow himself to fall into debt, especially with Absolute Seal, he might as well smash his head and suicide if he did.
Stepping out with a bamboo basket, a machete and hoe, the Sun rays heated his face as his eyes squinted adjusting to the light. A smile bloomed as he looked ahead and saw his land full of weeds and thorns with sparse trees growing.
Zed had already prepared and checked the scope of his land, it was 4 acres with the cabin at the edge. He could always just use more but with no strength to his name, he didn't dare break any rules set by the Mountain Order Sect.
He didn't need enemies and the idea of killing just went against his wishes. However, he knew this was a world ruled by the strength of one's fist rather than laws and government but with Absolute Seal, he wasn't as afraid of the world and meeting adversaries and obstacles as before.
He started with clearing the fields of the obvious weeds and prepping the land for seeds to be sown.
By the time it reached Noon and the Sun was hanging at its highest above the clouds, Zed returned to his Cabin for lunch. Cultivators at higher levels can exist simply off spiritual energy but considering Zed was just a bit "bigger" than an average mortal, he couldn't refuse to nourish his body.
Zed had managed to clear an entire acre by noon and estimated finishing within another day or two before he was ready so sow the land.
He also managed to find a few herbs with some healing properties and body-nourishing qualities. Having managed the low level herb garden, Zed was quite well versed with low level herbs as he studied them extensively to ensure the quality of his work and avoid getting fired.
"Alas, man proposes and god disposes" Zed sighed as he ate a simple bowl of rice and meat.
The food was filling but quite bland and Zed couldn't wait to really settle down and get some vegetables and maybe some little animals and fish to raise. The quality of his food would definitely improve and if he managed to cultivate some spiritual plants like spirit rice and cabbage, he could even speed up his cultivation again.
With thoughts of a brighter future, Zed cleaned up and returned to cleaning up his farm.
