The sun creeps in through the curtains, painting the room in soft golden hues. The couple stirs lazily in bed, tangled together in a heap of warmth and sleepy smiles. There's no rush—no alarms, no deadlines, just a day meant for them.
"Good morning beautiful ". Lexi's lips touches Valeria's ear as she exclaimed those words.
A soft and warm lips touches her as she greeted Valeria good morning.
After some slow stretching and playful nudging, they finally roll out of bed. One of them starts brewing coffee while the other rummages through the pantry for ingredients to whip up breakfast. Their kitchen hums with quiet joy—pancakes sizzling in the pan, the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air, soft tunes playing in the background. They exchange flirtatious glances over mugs, laughter spilling effortlessly between bites.
After that they decided take a stroll around the neighborhood.
The birds sounds were like a music in their ears, the sun rays hitting their skin but not minding it anyway. They enjoy each other's company more than anything else.
As evening arrives, they cook dinner together. It's nothing fancy—perhaps a simple pasta dish—but it's made with laughter and care. They dance in the kitchen between stirring sauces and boiling noodles, stealing bites before they even reach the plate.
"You look so beautiful. Oh gosh I am going to miss you again". Lexi said as they continue to go with the beat of the song that they have been hearing.
"You are still here. What a cry baby". Lexi pouted her lips as Valeria said those words.
"Still, I'm going to miss you, I don't know if I can continously come back here every Saturday especially because of work". The boiling sauce cut off their conversation.
"Oh my, let me get that". Valeria walked towards the boiling sauce and put it in the tray, Lexi then turn off the gas stove and help Valeria prepare their meal.
They continuously chat with each other and finally, the night settles in. They build a fort out of blankets, curl up together, and watch a movie they've both seen a hundred times. Halfway through, their heads rest against each other, eyes growing heavy. And just like that, their Sunday ends the way it began—wrapped up in each other, with no need for words, just the quiet understanding that this, here, is happiness.
4:00 am
The world stirs in the hush of dawn, wrapped in the gentle transition between night and day. At first, the sky is a deep, velvety blue, clinging to the remnants of stars that still twinkle faintly, reluctant to fade. Then, almost imperceptibly, a soft blush of color spills across the horizon—a whisper of gold and pink, stretching its fingers upward.
Lexi exhales, slow and deliberate, as if trying to breathe in every last second before she steps away. The scent of his sweater still clings to her skin, the taste of his laughter still lingers in her mind. Sunday had wrapped them in its golden haze—lazy morning kisses, tangled limbs beneath soft blankets, shared meals and whispered dreams. But now, reality beckons her back.
She take a step back. Then another. Leaving Valeria still sound asleep. And then, she's gone, swallowed by the evening, leaving behind only the echo of shared hours, and the promise of another day in the arms she has just left.
